Looking for an exclusive country getaway? Netherby Hall is offering one lucky winner the chance to win a two-night stay with an eight-course tasting menu on one of the nights.
Situated in Longtown in the Borderlands between England and Scotland, Netherby Hall is grandeur personified. From the sweeping drive to the expansive gardens, and the Grade II* listed mansion house to its ultra-chic and newly refurbished guest accommodation, it’s the perfect venue for an exclusive getaway.
Nestled within 36 acres of private gardens, this luxurious hideaway is one of the best-kept secrets in the world of luxury travel. It’s centred around a 16th Century pele tower and has been developed over the centuries with later additions in the 17th, 18th and 19th Century. The Hall is built on the site of a Roman fort known as ‘Castra Exploratorum’ and it is believed that some sections of the house were built using the original fort stones
Following a multi-million pound investment by its private owners, the hall has been restored in magnificent fashion, and now offers luxurious self-catering accommodation across nine individual and unique properties.
A series of events and classical music concerts are held at the venue every year, with guests travelling hundreds of miles to attend. On days when the only melodies are birdsong and the sounds of nature, Netherby Hall’s expansive grounds – which include a Victorian pleasure garden and a walled garden – are open to all guests. This is a mansion house surrounded by rolling fells and rugged countryside – the perfect playground for our four-legged friends. Dogs are a part of life at Netherby – and we invite you to bring yours along too.
As dusk falls, we invite you to hop into the estate’s private Mercedes minibus and in just five minutes you will be at Netherby Hall’s sister venue, the Pentonbridge Inn, where a delightful fusion of rustic and contemporary décor awaits. There you can indulge in triple rosette-winning chef Chris Archer’s award-winning eight-course tasting menu, accompanied by a flight of carefully selected wines and exemplary service. As your evening draws to a close, your carriage will await for safe passage back to Netherby and the sumptuous comfort of your chosen accommodation.
