The Times & Sunday Times Cheltenham Literature Festival 2020

October 2 2020 - October 11 2020

The summer is over. Autumn has begun. Social distancing regulations are making you reminisce on all the events that were cancelled this year – except for Cheltenham Literature Festival 2020, which returns with a hybrid of in-person and online events, all complying with social distance regulations. The festival is back this October, offering visitors a chance to get inspired by the world’s greatest writers, thinkers and performers, with over 100 events broadcast live from Cheltenham’s Town Hall and the Everyman Theatre.

This year, don’t miss your chance to see Strictly’s Claudia Winkleman in conversation with Emma Freud; Malcolm Gladwell discuss the way we interact with others in his book Talking to Strangers; Pandora Skyes (How Do We Know We’re Doing it Right) investigates navigating the moment with Otegha Uwagba (Whites) and Abigail Bergstrom; Dolly Alderton chats about her debut novel Ghosts with blogger and author Candiche Brathwaite; and many other sensational people including Rupert Everett, Marcus Brigstocke, Caitlin Moran and Richard Osman.

There’s a new addition to Cheltenham Literature Festival this year with ‘The Citizen’s Manifesto’ which will unite young activists, politicians and key thinkers to shine a light on the strangest year so far, exploring ways society could change even further due to Covid-19. You will also be introduced to a digital series of talks from leading writers all over the globe with The World is Waiting.

Set to entertain and inspire children of all ages, this year’s digital family, young adult and schools programme allows you to create your own festival fun with almost 40 free events filled with creative challenges and read-along sessions.

2 – 11 October 2020

Events take place online and also in person at The Everyman Theatre, Regent Street, Cheltenham GL50 1HQ and Cheltenham Town Hall, GL50.
