British Tea

Where? Chiswick House and Gardens

What? Pop the kettle on and pour yourself a cuppa because 21 April is not only the Queen’s 92nd, but also the start of a festival that celebrates the nation’s favourite hot beverage. The two-day event will see over 225 providers taking part in tea-riffic celebrations. Join PG Tips, Clipper Tea, Newby Tea’s and many more to celebrate National Tea Day.

Take a stroll through the Vitali-Tea Gardens and try some yoga, or learn a little something at The Museum of Historic Tea Ware. Feeling hungry? Head down to the Tea ‘N’ Treat Village or the Afternoon Tea Zone for a treat. This ultimate tea party will be a fun-filled family day out with lots of activi-teas (bet you didn’t see that one coming). Fancy sampling some tea infused beers and cocktails? Take a visit to the Tea ‘n’ Tipple Boulevard and dance your evening away.

See celebrity baking masterclasses, take a visit to the selfie-wall, sit in on an educational seminar, or for the kids, head down to the children’s activity area. DJ Sammy Porter will supply the festival’s soundtrack.

What’s more, a selection of highlights from the world’s most valuable and largest private museum of historic tea wares will be going on display at the event for all tea lovers to admire. A selection of objects from the 1,700 piece collection, The Chitra Collection will be displayed in the exhibition The Art of Tea: Discover the history of the world’s favourite drink from President Roosevelt’s tea caddy to a teapot that was owned by Winston Churchill’s daughter.

“The collection is part of a wider mission to not only demonstrate the historical importance of tea, but also reflect the evolution of the design and craftsmanship of teawares.” – Aneta Aslakhanova, Director of the Chitra Collection

Fes-Tea-Val is the ultimate day out for foodies, families, tea lovers and those who love to party.

Tickets cost £10 or £25 for a family pass and include admission to all areas at the event including The Art of Tea: Discover the history of the world’s favourite drink
