Raising funds for the UK’s largest breast cancer charity, Breast Cancer Now, an inspirational and collaborative exhibition, She – London at Bankside Gallery, will showcase the works from 25 innovative female artists, exploring the fantastic diversity and exposition of the female body.

From photography to sculpture, paintings and ceramics, the explorative showcase curated by fundraising charity, Art for Cure will feature the works of illustrious and emerging artists including Maggi HamblingCarol Peace, Kate Jenkins and Jelly Green.

Having being diagnosed with breast cancer herself at age 47, Art for Cure’s inspiring founder Belinda Gray launched the creative charity in a bid to help and support other women suffering with the disease.

The first exhibition took place in 2014 at Gray’s Suffolk home, where 2000 people attended raising an impressive £100,000 for Breast Cancer. Since then, the charity has gone on to raise £700,000 and continues to contribute funds to vital cancer research through art.

Profits raised through She – London will not only benefit Breast Cancer Now, but will also support Dr Rachael Natrajan’s important research at the Breast Cancer Now Toby Robins Research Centre, and the crucial development of new treatments.

Belinda Gray said: ‘My team and I, all volunteers, have brought together a collection of incredible female artists, many of which have a personal connection to breast cancer, to present their interpretation of the female form in their own style and medium of choice.

‘It’s particularly poignant that this year’s show is taking part in October – Breast Cancer Awareness Month – as Art for Cure was born out of my own personal journey with breast cancer. No one ever expects to hear the news ‘it’s cancer’ but after my treatments I felt a personal responsibility to raise money to help in some small way improve the future treatments and outcomes for other women.

‘Something positive had to emerge from my experience and the raw knowledge of what it was like emotionally and physically go through breast cancer. I wanted to use that gruelling period in my life to support other women, I feel very proud to be raising further money for Breast Cancer Now’s vital research through this new exhibition.’
