“Unearth, reconnect and rediscover” is what’s on the agenda for Tulip Fever at The Assembly, Heckfield Place. This spring, to celebrate the springing up of Heckfield’s 25,000 tulips planted last year, the beautiful venue is hosting a series of spring-themed events which invite guests to step into the season with gardening’s most notable figures. Whether you’re a bonafide green-thumb or a wary novice, you’ll leave inspired and equipped with fascinating knowledge and gardening tips to transform your green space this spring.

The weekend’s Saturday events include an Easter Tablescape workshop with the floral designers of Kitten Grayson flowers and the renowned Quo Vadis chef Jeremy Lee, where you’ll use homegrown Heckfield blooms to create truly inspired arrangements – after which tea and cake will be served, of course. You can also have a tea time chat with Spring Restaurant chef Skye Gyngell and expert garden designer Dan Pearson, or if you’d rather your horticulture with a side of education, there’s an evening talk by author and expert in all things tulip, Anna Pavard.

Alternatively, the botanical drawing classes on Sunday offer budding artists the chance to learn how to paint the iconic and humble flower-of-the-hour using the traditional watercolour technique for botanical illustration. Of course, you can’t leave without a tour amongst the sea of tulips, which include multiple varieties like Belle Epoque, Apricot Delight, Queen of the Night and Poco Loco. It will be a wonderful and beautiful weekend celebrating all things floral – the perfect way to usher in spring.
