Raffles Hotels and Resorts and Hinduja Group is set to open London’s first Raffles address in the new year, located in the landmark Grade II listed former Old War Office on Whitehall. Once inhabited by Britain’s most famous statesmen and spies from Winston Churchill to Ian Fleming, it will be open to the public for the first time with 120 rooms and suites plus 85 branded residences, 11 restaurants and bars including a rooftop bars with views across Whitehall, The Mall and Buckingham Palace. Featuring 57 rooms and suits, Broadwick Soho is the first London hotel designed by Martin Brudnizki, the man behind the beloved interiors at Annabel’s and The Wolseley. The designer describes the new venture as ‘your eccentric godmother’s Soho townhouse’, with many of the higher-tier rooms and suites featuring private balconies overlooking the bustling streets of the city. Mandarin Oriental Mayfair, London

From Knightsbridge to Hanover Square, there’s a new Mandarin Oriental coming to another of the town’s chicest neighbourhoods. With 50 guestrooms and 78 private residences designed by Studio Indigo, the property has been designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners with the public space interiors designed by Tokyo based studio, Curiosity. A discreet and intimate sister property to the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, the Mandarin Oriental Mayfair will also be home to an urban spa, and the first namesake Akira Back restaurant in the UK along with his ‘ABar Lounge’ concept. mandarinoriental.com

The Wildes Hotel Group is transforming a historic site on Bridge Street in Chester into a one-of-a-kind boutique hotel, set to open in spring 2023. Red Carnation Hotels’ first property in Scotland, 100 Princes Street is set to be a celebration of the beautiful city of Edinburgh, the heritage of Scotland and the exclusive address of the former Overseas League. Led by the design team behind the iconic Ashford Castle in Ireland, Toni Tollman, Philippe Bonino and Brian Brennan, this restoration will look to protect and retain the original heart and soul of 100 Princes Street, restoring the original building and its iconic features. Inspired by Alexander McQueen, the design team sought to create a sense of place, working with local artisans to create bespoke pieces including custom-made tartan designed by Araminta Campbell, and a central staircase which features a hand-painted mural by Croxford & Saunders. 100princes-street.com

The Zetter group’s first new hotel opening in a decade will arrive in London in 2025. Six 300-year old townhouses in leafy Bloomsbury will be transformed into The Zetter Bloomsbury, with 72 bedrooms and suites near Russell Square and overlooking the British Museum. Guests can expect an immediately welcoming atmosphere, with a Sitting Room in lieu of a reception desk, where an arrival cocktail will accompany views of the hotel’s tranquil terrace and gardens, with landscaping by Rich Landscapes.
