The Curriculum
Pupils get a broad educational experience through a traditional curriculum and over 150 cocurricular activities. Alongside the school’s focus on ensuring excellent academic progress for each pupil, it provides outstanding opportunities in all other areas of school life.

Sports and the arts are very important parts of Taunton School life. Fantastic facilities combine excellently with the wide range of cocurricular opportunities on offer in these areas.
Pastoral Care
Wrap-around pastoral care and safeguarding of students is something the school prides ourselves on, aiming to know every child personally so that effective care can be offered in a timely manner. Students have 24-hour access to on-site health centre and a dedicated deputy head pastoral and safeguarding team. The school’s April 2024 ISI inspection noted that ‘leaders give the utmost priority to safeguarding ensuring children are kept safe’.
University Places
96 percent of students go on to university, with many being in the Russell Group.
