Inside Rolls-Royce’s Primavera Collection
Unveiled over a fittingly elegant lunch in Windsor, Primavera (Italian for ‘spring’) offers three interpretations of the season: Evanescent, Reverie and Blossom. Each is distinguished by hand-painted cherry blossom motifs along the coachline, embroidery on headrests, illuminated treadplates and interiors enhanced by etched Blackwood panels. These fascias, created using 37 different laser densities before being hand-finished, showcase the dedication to artistry that remains a signature of Rolls-Royce – and at the heart of everything it does. A new 23-inch wheel design, shaped like petals opening to sunlight, continues the seasonal theme.
Each of the three cars has been designed to convey a different mood: Evanescent, finished in crystal over arctic white with turquoise accents, reflects the beauty of wildflowers; Reverie, duck egg blue with forge yellow highlights, evokes calm; and Blossom, finished in velvet orchid metallic with peony pink and forge yellow, channels the vibrancy of spring blooms.
Each car is distinguished by hand-painted cherry blossom motifs along the coachline, embroidery on headrests, illuminated treadplates and interiors enhanced by etched Blackwood panels.
Martina Starke, the marque’s head of Bespoke design, said of the new trio: ‘Spring is a moment of celebration in cultures around the world. It is associated with youth and romance, the return of light and warmth after the darkness of winter. Its joyous transformation is swift and fleeting, which makes it all the more precious.
‘In Spectre Inspired by Primavera, we captured the emotions this moment brings for clients to enjoy all year round,’ Starke adds. ‘There is a wonderful contrast at the heart of this Bespoke series: the transience of the season, expressed through the permanence of a Rolls-Royce. Spectre Inspired by Primavera reflects the constant evolution of Rolls-Royce Bespoke, which is shaped by the ever-changing imaginations of our clients.’
The exterior of the Spectre Inspired by Primavera features a rose gold Spirit of Ecstasy.
This latest commission sits within a tradition of Rolls-Royce creations drawing on cultural heritage and artisanal craft, which remain central pillars of the brand. This year we’ve seen Phantom Dentelle, a one-of-one motor inspired by handmade lace woven on a Leavers loom. Its embroidery, with more than 160,000 stitches, brings couture detail into the cabin of a Rolls-Royce, while the exterior features a rose gold Spirit of Ecstasy and hand-painted coachline flourishes in a nod to fine workmanship.
Equally, commissions inspired by the mural paintings of Dunhuang in China have shown how ancient cultural motifs can be reinterpreted through modern craft. Three Bespoke cars, including a Black Badge Spectre, featured colours, patterns and symbolic forms from the historic caves, with hand-painted motifs, exclusive palettes and illuminated interiors.
This year also marks the centenary of the Phantom, a car that’s been embraced by artists, musicians and performers for generations. From Marlene Dietrich to John Lennon, from Liberace to today’s hip-hop scene, Phantom has been a constant on our cultural landscape, doubling as a symbol, an artwork, and a personal statement for those lucky enough to own one.

Now, years later, with Primavera debuting in its first all-electric model, Rolls-Royce shows that Bespoke still draws on artisan craft, cultural resonance and heritage, and carries it into a cleaner future.
