In the world of jewellery and horology, transparency, provenance and circularity are the new precious metals. This category celebrates the pioneers putting the polish on purpose.

Best Sustainable Jewellery Innovation

Winner: Skydiamond

Skydiamond is redefining the future of fine jewellery with the world’s first carbon-negative diamonds made entirely from the sky – using wind, sun, rain and atmospheric carbon instead of mining or fossil fuels. Founded by environmental pioneer Dale Vince, the brand produces diamonds in the Cotswolds using 100 percent renewable energy, paired with fully traceable recycled metals including newly-developed Ceramic Gold from waste British pottery. With independent verification from Imperial College London and industry partnerships across the Green Britain Group, Skydiamond demonstrates how to turn luxury into a climate-positive force.

What the judges said:

‘Skydiamond started as they meant to go on and now a few years in, continue to lead the charge in how diamonds can be worked with. They have set a high standard and certainly not made it easy for themselves but in looking at every aspect and investigating what can be done, they have set a high bar for other jewellery brands.’ – Juliet Fallowfield

‘Skydiamond delivers an outstanding example of pioneering innovation. With their ambitious 2030 goals and continued focus on transparency and education, they have the potential to significantly influence the industry’s shift toward responsible, regenerative luxury.’ – Tania McNab

‘A unique brand with a unique concept and unimpeachable science behind it.’ – Avril Groom

Highly Commended: With Love Darling

A purpose-driven, female-founded jewellery brand (est. 2018) creating timeless pieces inspired by the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Recent progress includes a full shift to 100 pecent recycled gold and silver, plastic-free FSC-certified packaging, and the ‘One Order = One Tree’ programme funding 18,500+ trees. Long-term artisan partnerships span Maasai women’s collectives in northern Kenya and a family-run workshop in Jaipur, alongside the values-led ‘Wear Your Values’ campaign.

What the judges said:

‘With Love Darling delivers an inspiring and purpose-driven approach to sustainable jewellery… Overall, With Love Darling stands out as a brand that is pioneering a holistic, values-led model of sustainable luxury.’ – Tania McNab

‘A very impressive and committed brand, considering every aspect it touches and beyond in sustainable, ethical and circularity terms… Long-term goals are hugely ambitious for a small brand which is praiseworthy but compatibility with the scaling needed to achieve them may need thought.’ – Avril Groom

Responsible Jewellery Brand

Winner: Monica Vinader

Founded in 2008, Monica Vinader has set a new benchmark for responsible jewellery – combining contemporary design with rigorous traceability, recycled precious metals, lab-grown diamonds, and pioneering transparency tools. With its Product Passport, the brand allows customers to trace 75 percent of styles from mine to market; all jewellery is made from 100 percent recycled gold and silver, backed by a five-year warranty and lifetime repairs scheme. Beyond climate and circularity, Monica Vinader champions gender equity and artisanship through its women-centred supply chain collaborations and its Leadership for Life programme.

What the judges said:

‘There is so much attention to detail on the part of the brand, it clearly demonstrates a passion to implement tangible results as well as great messages and lessons. I was particularly impressed with the Product Passport initiative – this makes it easy for the customer to just know more, in an engaging way. Transparency at its best.’ – Ginnie Chadwyck-Healey

‘The team at Monica Vinader have clearly thought out every element of the business and how they can be responsible as much as possible. The investment in time, and therefore also budget, they have put against this work is so impressive.’ – Juliet Fallowfield

‘Monica Vinader exemplifies what it means to be a truly responsible jewellery brand, embedding sustainability, ethics, and innovation at every stage of its operations… Overall, this was an excellent submission.’ – Tania McNab

Highly Commended: Boodles

Founded in 1798, Boodles remains a sixth-generation British fine jewellery house with an enduring commitment to craftsmanship, traceability and responsible sourcing. The brand has made significant progress towards a more sustainable operating model – from using 100 percent renewable energy across all stores to sourcing Single Mine Origin gold from Senegal and partnering with ethical diamond mines in Canada and South Africa. Its Peace of Mined collection, zero-to-landfill policy with First Mile, and long-term charitable partnerships with Street Child and Just a Drop show how heritage and modern responsibility can coexist.

What the judges said:

‘Rather than sit on its laurels as a company with centuries of experience and tradition behind it, Boodles actively and increasingly engages with everyone from suppliers to end clients to ensure transparency and traceability at the highest jewellery levels where this was not always the case. Its links with individual mines are an especially attractive idea.’ – Avril Groom

Responsible Watch Brand

Winner: ID Genève

Founded in 2020, ID Genève is the first B Corp-certified Swiss watchmaker, created to redefine modern luxury through circular design and radical transparency. More than 95 percent of components are produced within 250km of Geneva, using recycled stainless steel, regenerative carbon composites, recycled sapphire crystal and next-generation plant-based straps made from hemp waste and grape skins. In the last year the brand launched the world’s first self-healing regenerative carbon watch case in collaboration with CompPair, unveiled the ELEMENTS collection with nano-engraved dials from Morphotonix, and expanded through values-aligned retail partners including Watches of Switzerland and Seddiqi. ID Genève’s commitment extends beyond product: every supplier is publicly listed, 73 percent have signed the brand’s code of conduct, and flexible working and DEI policies are embedded across the business.

What the judges said:

ID Genève Watches has introduced a new standard of longevity in watchmaking by launching the world’s first watch case made from regenerative carbon.  The material self-heals from micro-scratches when heated for one minute. I was impressed by their strong commitment to the circular economy, with 95 percent of components sourced within just 250 kilometres of their Geneva headquarters.’ – Aisling Connaughton
