The Italian designer puts his spin on London’s iconic department store
In London, it’s not really Christmas until the lights get switched on – and one set of Christmas illuminations we’ve been (impatiently) waiting for this year comes from Harrods. Each year, the beloved department store teams up with a high profile brand or designer, who is tasked with transforming its facade and windows for the festive season. And this year, it’s Brunello Cucinelli’s turn. Here’s everything you need to know about Harrods’ festive display this year, plus how (and when) to catch its Christmas lights.
Harrods’ Christmas Lights: The Brunello Cucinelli Takeover
The Cucinelli family flocked to London earlier this week to unveil Harrods’ brand new Christmas facade, created in collaboration with Umbrian fashion house Brunello Cucinelli. Bringing to life the brand’s ‘Feelosophy’ concept – which it describes as the Solomeo ‘way of life’ in which visitors expeirence a feel of the Italian town through all their senses – with an extended installation across the department store.

The Brunello Cucinelli takeover at Harrods was unveiled on 1 December 2025
Spread across Harrods’ indoor and outdoor spaces, the Brunello Cucinelli takeover starts with a huge window display spanning 21 windows on Brompton Road and Hans Crescent – culminating in a special six metre tall Christmas tree in the pedestrian area – alongside videos projected onto the main entrance.
Inside, meanwhile, the story continues with two themed pop-ups on the sixth and ninth floors. It’s here that Harrods will host an exclusive selection of clothing from Brunello Cucinelli that embodies the ‘Feelosophy’ spirit.

A Closer Look At The Windows
While the ‘Feelosophy’ theme takes centre stage throughout the installation, it is also joined by a special narrative that sweeps across Harrods’ windows. The fashion house explains that the story is narrated by our protagonist, Philo, a pure white griffin inspired by the Solomeo emblem, with stories of the half-lion, half-eagle creature serving as the guardian of Umbrian culture and identity.
Split into six parts, the story begins in the hamlet of Solomeo, where Philo watches on as life unfolds – and, eventually, the villagers leave for modern life in the city. As the last artisan leaves Solomeo, Philo falls into a deep slumber.
But when a ‘young dreamer’ arrives in the town, he becomes captivated by its beauty and history. He imagines bringing the hamlet back to life, and in doing so encourages a breeze to ring the old tower bells – awakening Philo once more.
The griffin then beats its wings, stirring clouds and opening the doors of Solomeo’s houses and workshops so that the hamlet can come alive again. This also causes the hamlet to rise into the air, supported by soft threads and clouds. Philo, seeing the change, is able to carry the hamlet above Italy across the world, stopping at the city of London. Naturally, Philo’s journey ends at one place: Harrods.
The Tree
Joining the ranks of London’s prettiest Christmas trees, Brunello Cucinelli’s tree takes on a more unique design inspired by the brand’s identity codes. Styled as a cashmere fortress crafted from spools of cashmere thread, resting on a bed of clouds lit with twinkling light – and topped with the Solomeo emblem, the snowy white griffin.
