…And these are the spring cultural highlights to take in across Europe

You can currently secure tickets to Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam direct, Rotterdam direct or Lille in the 2026 Easter Eurostar sale. Fares start at £35 each way, with only five days left to book, until midnight on Tuesday 14 April 2026. Journey dates run from 22 April to 10 July 2026, covering everything from late Easter breaks to early summer city escapes. Standard class one-way fares include £35 to Paris and Lille, £39 to Brussels, and £45 to Amsterdam or Rotterdam. Here’s how to get tickets, and what to see while you’re in town.

Eurostar’s high-speed trains depart from London St Pancras and arrive in the centre of each destination, no airport queues, no strict carry-on limits (so there’s more space for bringing home fresh boulangerie bakes), no terminals miles from the city centre. More importantly, it’s the greenest way to travel across the Channel. A train journey from London to Paris emits up to 93% less CO₂ per passenger than flying the same route.

What To See In Each City This Season

Paris: Renoir and Love at Musée d’Orsay

Paris is always a good idea, and this spring, the Musée d’Orsay presents one of the most anticipated exhibitions of 2026. Renoir and Love runs from 17 March to 19 July 2026 and celebrates how affection, connection and human relationships shaped the Impressionist master’s work during a defining period from 1865–1885. Co-organised with the National Gallery in London and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, this landmark retrospective brings together masterpieces that have rarely been shown together since 1985. Highlights include Renoir’s iconic Luncheon of the Boating Party and Bal du Moulin de the Galette, alongside portraits and scenes that capture the joy of late-19th-century Parisian social life. The exhibition offers a new perspective on how Renoir approached love within the changing cultural fabric of his era. Book tickets in advance via Musée d’Orsay’s official site to avoid queues.

Brussels: Tosca at La Monnaie

Brussels is home to one of Europe’s most prestigious opera houses, and this summer, the Théâtre Royal de La Monnaie (also known as De Munt) stages Puccini’s dramatic masterpiece Tosca. Running from 17 June to 1 July 2026 with 11 performances, this staged revival is directed by acclaimed Belgian director and features both French and Dutch supertitles. Tickets are available through La Monnaie’s website.

Amsterdam: From Vermeer to Van Gogh at Fabrique des Lumières

Amongst Amsterdam’s cultural highlights for summer 2026 is the immersive digital exhibition From Vermeer to Van Gogh at the Fabrique des Lumières, running until 1 September 2026. This show brings the Netherlands’ greatest masters to life through floor-to-ceiling projections, surround sound and interactive installations. Visitors walk through expansive digital canvases featuring works by Vermeer, Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Mondrian and more, experiencing the art in an entirely new way. The exhibition runs alongside the Van Gogh Museum’s Yellow: More than Van Gogh’s Favourite Colour (until 17 May 2026), making this an ideal time for art lovers to visit. Plan your visit via Fabrique des Lumières Amsterdam.

Rotterdam: Theaterfestival De Parade at Museumpark

Rotterdam is perhaps Europe’s most forward-thinking cultural city, and this summer it hosts the 35th edition of Theatrefestival De Parade, one of the Netherlands’ most beloved travelling theatre festivals. From 20–29 June 2026, the festival occupies the Museumpark with around 80 theatre, dance, mime and music performances for all ages in intimate theatre tents. This year features Rotterdam-based acts including Elfie Tromp’s Van de gekken, where she brings cabaret legend Adèle Bloemendaal to life, alongside renowned Dutch performers like Wilfried de Jong and Gerard Olthaar. Tickets go on sale 1 June at 11:00 via De Parade’s official site

Lille: Echoes of the Past by Felice Varini

Lille delivers French elegance without the crowds, and this spring the Palais des Beaux-Arts is hosting Echoes of the Past by internationally renowned Swiss artist Felice Varini. Running from 26 April 2025 to 30 June 2026, the exhibition features three geometric installations created specially for the museum, transforming perception across multiple spaces including the emblematic atrium. Tickets available at Palais des Beaux-Arts de Lille
