Hart Shoreditch Competition

Since opening in 2020, Hart Shoreditch has established itself as one of East London’s most stylish cultural destinations, perfectly positioned just moments from Old Street and Shoreditch High Street. Inspired by the neighbourhood’s creative spirit and heritage of craftsmanship, the hotel champions creativity, collaboration and wellbeing through partnerships with local artists, designers and wellness practitioners, alongside a programme of immersive experiences including infrared sound healing, candle-making workshops and the Mindful Mending Club.

As part of its ongoing creative programme, Hart has partnered with contemporary urban artist Mali Mowcka to create ‘Sanctum of Renewal’ for London Design Festival 2026. This immersive installation will transform the hotel’s Pan-Asian restaurant, UBA, into a contemporary sacred space, with 200 suspended, handcrafted wooden pieces emerging from the ceiling to create a sense of movement and energy. Inspired by the Japanese concept of Yūgen, the installation explores subtle beauty, movement and mystery, creating an ethereal atmosphere inspired by the natural rhythms of waves, clouds and the sea.

One lucky winner will get to enjoy a two-night stay at the hotel for two people in a Junior Suite, including a delicious three-course dinner and bottle of wine at UBA, as well as a buffet breakfast the next morning. The winner will also have the chance to discover ‘Sanctum of Renewal’ first hand, with the exhibition continuing to be displayed at UBA following the festival in September.
