Here's everything we know so far. Warning: spoilers ahead...
It may be called Nobody Wants This, but it seems that everybody wants a fourth season of the hit rom com. With season 3 out on screens today (22 October), we’re already desperate to know when we’ll get our next hit of this swoon-worthy romance. But will there be a fourth installment? Here’s everything we know about Nobody Wants This season 4…
What Is Nobody Wants This About?
In case you’ve missed the love boat, the first series of Nobody Want This follows Kristen Bell as cynical, sex positive, unlucky-in-love podcast host Joanne, and Adam Brody as hip, young and unconventional rabbi Noah. In the first episode, they meet at a dinner party hosted by a mutual friend, and immediately hit it off – but both know it’s probably not a good idea to pursue a relationship between two people with such different outlooks on life. It’s basically Fleabag’s Hot Priest romance, but here the Hot Priest is a Hot Rabbi.
Either way, the spark is just too compelling to ignore and the duo start dating – and try to continue to do so in the face of social complications, sabotaging families, and meddling siblings: Joanne’s sister Morgan (Justine Lupe) and Noah’s brother Sasha (Timothy Simons).
Made up of ten episodes, season 1 was met with critical and commercial acclaim, earning three nominations at the 77th Emmy Awards as well as the Golden Globes, SAG Awards and the Critics Choice Awards (Brody won at the latter). Netflix officially confirmed a second season of Nobody Wants This was on the way just over two weeks after the first season launched.

Is It Based On A True Story?
Nobody Wants This is loosely based on the marriage of its creator Erin Foster, and how falling in love totally changed her perspective on humour. ‘This show is based on the only good decision I ever made: falling for a nice Jewish boy,’ Foster told Netflix Tudum. ‘But I realised that being happy is way harder than being miserable – there’s nothing to complain about. So, I created this show based on all the ways that finding the right person can be so hard.’
Before you ask, no, Foster’s husband (Simon Tikhman) is not a rabbi – so the hurdle Erin and Simon’s romance had to hop over was much lower than Joanne and Noah’s. ‘The show is not making any political statements because I’m not the person to make that statement,’ Foster warned. ‘I didn’t grow up Jewish, I converted as an adult. I wanted to tell a Jewish story, but from an outsider’s perspective for someone who chose Judaism.’

What Happened In Season 3 (Spoilers Ahead…)
With Joanne and Noah agreeing to commit at the end of season 2, in season 3 they’re all in. They’re ready to move into their new home together, and the previously agnostic Joanne is taking the leap to convert to Judaism. With the couple largely settled, this gives more screen time to the will-they-won’t-they relationship between Joanne’s sister Morgan and Noah’s brother Sasha.
With Sasha and his wife Esther trialling separation, they both agree that they’re open to dating other people. A trip to New York then sees Sasha and Morgan growing closer – but their night together left Morgan panicking, and Sasha questioning whether he’s ready to risk getting hurt again. After a deep and meaningful chat with her sister, Morgan realises that Sasha could be what she’s been looking for. She finally admits her feelings to him but he confesses he’s uncertain. By the end of season three, Morgan is feeling wounded from Sasha’s rejection – a wound only further aggravated by the revelation that he recently spent a night with his ex wife.
While things go awry for their siblings, Noah and Joanne secure the happy ending we’ve all been rooting for, as they take the leap from fiancés to spouses. Initially meant as the final step in Joanne’s conversion to Judaism, the trip to the beach ended with Noah asking Rabbi Eden (Sarah Silverman) to marry them right then and there. Mazel tov!
