Matt Wolf is an American journalist and critic who has spent his entire professional life in London. He spent 21 years as arts and theatre writer for the Associated Press, during which time he began writing for Variety, before moving across to the International Herald Tribune – now the International New York Times to which he still contributes. He is a founder member and theatre editor of The Arts Desk online , and writes a monthly column for broadway.com, the world’s largest theatre website. Matt is on the faculty of NYU / London and the V&A Museum and can be heard reporting regularly on theatre for Monocle Radio. He is the author of several books and most recently provided fresh material to a book honouring 40 years of the musical, Les Miserables, whose opening night he attended in October 1985.
