Rosebie Morton
Rosebie’s interest in gardening came from her mother and grandmother who were both fanatical gardeners and instilled in her a love of plants and nature, and in particular the power of scent. Rosebie is totally self-taught in horticulture and has had no formal training, learning by trial and error as she went along. She has been a pioneer in growing garden roses for the cut flower industry. In 1995 Rosebie founded The Real Flower Company and began growing roses in her mother-in-law’s walled garden. Scent had all but disappeared from cut flowers and Rosebie was on a mission to bring it back, taking advantage of the expanding e-commerce platform to become one of the first to offer bouquets online.  Thirty years later, and with two shops in London, The Real Flower Company is going from strength to strength and is proud to be growing the flowers and foliage used in its scented bouquets and for bespoke weddings and events. Scent, seasonality and provenance are paramount on its regenerative farms, and insects, biologicals, and slug-loving guinea fowl also play their part.
