Fancy getting your hands on some award-winning wine? Good news: we’ve partnered with the Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA), and after the results of their prestigious 2023 awards were recently revealed, we’re giving one lucky C&TH reader the chance to win a collection of Platinum-winning wines. Read on for all the details…

Three award-winning wines from the Decanter World Wine Awards

Celebrating its 20th year, the DWWA has cemented its place as the world’s largest and most influential wine competition. This year’s contest saw a record 18,250 wines from 57 countries judged by leading international experts, in a rigorous process ensuring that both consumers and trade can seek out quality wines in every category, at every price point, with confidence.

Andrew Jefford, one of four DWWA Co-Chairs, commented: ‘If the wine world could be said to have any sort of a benchmark or proving ground, a place where your wines can go to match up against those being made elsewhere [on all five continents], then it might just be Decanter World Wine Awards.’

There were 125 Platinum-winning medals, one of the highest accolades given at the awards, and the lucky winner of this incredible competition will win three bottles to enjoy. All of these wines fall in the boutique/icon category (for wines priced £50 and above). The prize includes:

Ridgeview, Rosé De Noirs Brut, East Sussex, United Kingdom 2018

Bottle of Ridgeview Rose

Platinum, 97 points

Excellent colour with ripe, confected aromas with a strawberry fruit lift. A full palate, full of flavour, an oaked rosé in sparkling form with resolved tannins. A warm year yet handled well, tapered and elegant. Alc 12%

Domaine Jean Monnier & Fils, Vieilles Vignes, Meursault, Burgundy, France 2021

Platinum, 97 points

Stunning peach, apricot and melon with a toasty, hazelnut core; complex and elegant with a creamy oak texture and a beautifully cleansing lick of steely acidity. Long lasting and zesty with excellent ageing potential. Alc 13%

Justino’s Madeira, Frasqueira, Madeira, Portugal 1999

Platinum, 97 points

Mid glowing amber colour with hints of crème caramel, burnt orange peel, and sweet, earth after rain scents. Notably fresh and mouth filling with creamy toffee and Werther’s Original. Very long, super fresh finish, magnificent. Alc 20%
