Nestled within Norway’s expansive forested wilderness, Finnskogen, PAN is an ethereal cabin concept suspended between reality and folklore. Elevated high among the treetops, the trio of cabins offer views of deep pine woods, with placid lakes and dramatic landscapes beckoning beyond.

Inspired by the woodlands, the cabins nod to North American A‑frame lodges and the whimsical silhouettes of Moomin houses. Floor‑to‑ceiling windows draw in soft natural light, while warm timber, tactile textures, and organic materials create a cocooning atmosphere rich in Scandinavian charm. Inside, discover a calming retreat, with heated floors and an internal fireplace ensuring a gentle, enveloping warmth. Step outside to gather around your private firepit and breathe in the crisp forest air. Deeper into the woods, discover PAN’s secluded hot tub, enclosed for privacy yet open to the sky, forming a tranquil forest sanctuary.

Finnskogen itself is a place unlike any other: a biodiverse haven home to elk, deer, capercaillie, wolf, bear, lynx, and countless other species. Guests can immerse themselves in the landscape, follow wildlife tracks along quiet trails, or join guided safaris in search of the region’s abundant fauna. Enjoy atmospheric fireside storytelling sessions to discover local folklore, and the mythic history of the 17th‑century Forest Finns.

For those seeking a restorative escape, serene lakes and winding rivers can be explored by canoe. The Kynna and Flisaelva offer rapids from class one to three, while clear lakes invite peaceful fishing for pike, perch, and burbot.

Nearby PAN’s Café Søstuen2280, set in a beautifully restored log house, serves locally roasted coffee, Scandinavian pastries, organic lunches, and features a charming farm shop stocked with local treats, wines, beers, and juices.

Founded by couple Kristian Rostad and Christine Mowinckel, PAN was born from a desire to connect others to the restorative power of the storied ‘Forest of the Finns’, offering modern luxury in harmonious coexistence with nature.

Competition closes 10 March 2026.
