Live out your Disney dreams

If your dream property looks more like a grand castle in the countryside than a glitzy mansion in the city, then this sprawling French chateau is for you.

This Is What A Historic 18th Century French Chateau Looks Like

Venture two hours outside of Paris and you’ll find this 18th century chateau designed by renowned architect Gabriel-Hippolyte Destailleur. Boasting 51 acres of manicured lawns and rolling parkland, it was once a popular hunting spot among French high society.

Step inside the chateau and you’ll be greeted by a vast entrance hall complete with soaring ceilings, ornate mouldings and glittering chandeliers. From here, there are 25 reception rooms to explore, from a breathtaking drawing room to a formal dining room and an orangery commanding sweeping views of the grounds beyond. As if this wasn’t enough, there’s also a billiard room, music room and library as well as a chapel and even a chess room (no property is complete without one, naturally).

There are three kitchens on the lower level, plus a wine cellar, gym and an incredible system of dumb waiters and transport trolleys dating back to the construction of the property. Head up the grand staircase, meanwhile, and you’ll find three upper floors containing a total of 21 bedrooms. This includes a principal apartment (not just a suite, of course) alongside an 18th century-style boudoir, a bespoke dressing room and a Gothic-style bedroom.

If you can navigate the chateau’s maze of majestic rooms and venture back outside, there’s another, smaller chateau to check out (because why have only one when you could have two?). This neo-Louis XIII style guesthouse provides yet more stunning living space alongside glorious views of the estate.

Want to make this staggering property your own? You’ll have to make an enquiry – and we’re betting that you’ll need to have a few million to spare.
