Dip your toes into these new luxury apartments from the creators of The Shard

Not satisfied with building the tallest building in London, the team behind the Shard have now introduced London’s highest rooftop pool to their new luxury apartment complex, Shard Place.
Shard Place Is Now Home To The Highest Rooftop Pool In London
In recent years, luxury new-build swimming pools seem to have become a no-go for the risk-averse. From the mildly terrifying transparent Sky Pool in Embassy Gardens, Battersea – where the glass pool hangs like a bridge between two buildings – to the Shangri-La infinity pool in the Shard that greets guests looking for rest and relaxation with a 52 storey drop.

And the latest in the trend of slightly scary pools comes from Shard Place’s new rooftop pool – the highest in London, set against the city’s soaring skyline, so high that you can breaststroke over to the windows of The Shard or front crawl to a bird’s eye view of St Paul’s. Perched 100 metres above ground, this new 18-metre heated pool crowns Shard Place, offering a unique setting for a sunrise swim or post-work dip.
Shard Place is a new 27 storey glass building that has finally landed on the market. Comprising of 176 furnished apartments for rent, the residential building was completed by internationally acclaimed architectural practice Renzo Piano Building Workshop. Formed of two intersecting volumes – the taller of which houses the sky pool, while the lower opens onto the resident lounge and outdoor terrace – the building is designed to appear as if it is floating 16 metres off the ground.
What Else Does Shard Place Have To Offer?
Welcoming its first residents in June, the living spaces on offer range from studios to three bedroom apartments, varying from 425 sqft up to 1486 sqft. Alongside the stunning London views, residents will gain access to a range of luxury amenities. For those who aren’t brave enough to face the impossibly high outdoor pool – complete with a landscaped sun deck and changing room – there’s also a double-height orangery and a library which opens onto a terrace with striking views of St Paul’s Cathedral.

Other amenities include a 12-seater private dining room and kitchen equipped with a private chef which is available for guests to book; a 15-seat cinema; and a wellness suite equipped with a gym, private studio, sauna and steam room. Educated Body specialists will offer residents a curated programme of wellness events and experience too.
Accompanying these amenities, additional benefits include 24-hour concierge, security and around the clock on-site maintenance as well as exclusive car club membership and secure bicycle storage. Further services, available on request, include bespoke housekeeping and laundry provisions.

Delving Into The Design
Furnished by design studio State of Craft, residents can choose from two distinct interior palettes – one inspired by Bermondsey, the other inspired by Borough. Both choices are offered in light or dark to suit a variety of personal tastes. Alongside the handmade furnishings from State of Craft are notable pieces from brands such as Cassina, B&B Italia and Fredericia. Residents can also enhance their homes with optional upgrades, including Beaumont & Brown linens and bespoke ProCook kitchenware.
Throughout the building, and within each apartment, over 1,000 artworks have been individually curated by Richeldis Fine Art, including original paintings by Lawerence Calver, Carla Cascales, ceramics by Rhian Jones, large-format photographs by Chiara Zonca and poetic meditations by Nicolas Feldmeyer.
Where Is It?
Located on London Bridge Street, Shard Place residents will live within walking distance of landmarks such as White Cube, Tate Modern, and the Tower of London as well as some of the city’s finest gastronomy, from the vibrant Borough Market and Bermondsey Street to the Michelin-starred OMA and Trivet.
