Inside A Country Home With Gardens Designed By Sarah Eberle
With a record-breaking 19 medals under her belt (including a gold medal in every single category) it’s safe to say that Sarah Eberle is one of Chelsea Flower Show’s most legendary landscape architects. And when she’s not designing award-winning show gardens, her work can be spotted in a handful of homes across the country – including this rather breathtaking house in the New Forest.
Tucked away on a quiet lane in the village of Minstead, the property is complete with four double bedrooms, four reception rooms, and two bathrooms. From the large entrance hall – which features a handcrafted oak staircase – you can check out the elegant sitting room and formal dining room.
The garden room is particularly impressive, showcasing exposed oak beams and full-height glazing opening onto a rear terrace. Meanwhile, the kitchen/breakfast room is connected to a handy larder and a utility room, and it also boasts a set of French doors leading into the garden.
There are fitted wardrobes in all four bedrooms, and two contain handsome vanity basins, while the luxurious principal suite is kitted out with a newly-fitted bathroom featuring a bath and walk-in shower.
Outside, you’ll spot a detached double garage and a separate studio, but the real showstopper is, of course, the garden: across an immaculately-maintained acre of land, Sarah Eberle has designed formal borders, lawned areas, and secluded seating spots, not to mention a sprawling stone terrace, which is perfectly suited to al fresco entertaining. The grounds even contain a wildlife pond, a leafy orchard, and a vegetable garden. What’s not to love?
