What to Do Today: Awake Your Senses at this ExhibitSense of space

From today, 5 April until 18 May, Broadgate will help its visitors re-engage the senses at Sense Of Space in Exchange Square. The free pop-up installation is made up of four rooms, each offering an experience to activate the different senses. Graphic designer Rob Lowe – AKA Supermundane – has designed a bright and beautiful entrance mural with his signature geometric images that play with line, colour and optical effects.

Sense Of Space will also play host to a series of events throughout spring, including Sensory Yoga with Annie Clarke; Silent Nights movie screenings; and a gastronomic journey with experimental psychologist Professor Charles Spence and The Kitchen Theory.

The Four Rooms

The Doodle Room: A self-proclaimed ‘crazy doodler’, Mr. Doodle is known for his all-consuming doodle art. He will be staging a four-day live doodle to illustrate the Sense Of Space entrance room and visually grip visitors.

The Motion Box: In contrast to The Doodle Room, The Motion Box is a blacked out space using gesture recognition technology to translate visitors’ movements into an array of colour and light, focusing the mind on sight and sound. A human-activated artistic experience, The Motion Box allows each visitor to select a music genre to fill the room and inspire their movements.

The Infinity Garden: The Infinity Garden, created by floral design studio Early Hours, conveys a never-ending, abstract meadow of blossom trees, complete with sounds of nature and floral scents to invigorate the mind as we come into the season of Hanami, the Japanese custom of flower viewing.

The Zen Studio: Comfort is king in The Zen Studio. Everything is designed to relax and calm visitors. Pastel colours feature alongside soft carpet, the scent of lavender and relaxing music.

When & Where: 5 April until 18 May; Exchange Square, Broadgate
