Punchdrunk Enrichment is launching Fireside Tales for the festive season

The sun is shining, and the spring birds are singing, but Punchdrunk Enrichment are looking way ahead to winter. The child-focussed arm of the multi-award winning immersive theatre company – which has recently presented The Burnt City and Viola’s Room in Woolwich – will present a special production in Wembley Park this Christmas, titled Fireside Tales and tailored to young audiences. Here’s what you need to know.

Fireside Tales: Everything We Know So Far

What Is It?

Fireside Tales is a brand new interactive production designed for children aged seven to 11 by immersive theatre company Punchdrunk. Written and directed by Steve McCourt, it will run through December 2025 in Wembley Park, with tickets now on sale.

‘As someone who has dedicated their career to providing platforms for youth voice, Fireside Tales stands as an exciting opportunity for the children of Brent and beyond to share their stories with the world,’ says McCourt. ‘For millennia, we have gathered to share tales of resilience, hope and home – in an increasingly isolating world, it’s essential we hold on to that spark of imagination and the flame of community spirit.’

Founded in 2008, Punchdrunk Enrichment takes the innovative theatre approach of Punchdrunk, and introduces it to communities and schools. An independent charity, Punchdrunk Enrichment is all about education, community and family audiences, and previous productions include Enitan’s Game (Brent), The Lost Lending Library (Edinburgh) and Against Captain’s Orders (Greenwich).

What Is It About?

Fireside Tales invites young audiences and their grown-ups to take part in the ritual of the fire season. ‘For thousands of years, people have gathered around fires to share stories,’ Punchdrunk says. ‘But this tradition is fading, and many are at risk of being lost. Now, a new story has arrived: faint as an ember, not yet ready to be told. It needs help to stay alive. Without care, the fire might fade, be forgotten or take on a dangerous new form.

Fireside Tales is a show about the stories we tell, the ones we pass down, the ones we forget and what happens when we take the time to listen,’ Punchdrunk explains. ‘Audiences are invited to step into a magical world where stories flicker like flames and imagination keeps them burning bright. Developed with schools, Fireside Tales encourages young audiences to draw, write and share their own stories.’

When & Where?

Fireside Tales will run from 6 December 2025 to 4 January 2026 at Punchdrunk Enrichment Stores in Wembley Park (Unit 22, Watkin Rd, Wembley HA9 0NL).
