Colourful celebrations are going on across the capital this weekend
Though the parade isn’t going ahead this year, London’s Pride festivities are far from being cancelled. Fancy a high octane weekend with larger than life entertainment? There’s a Big Drag Brunch for that. Or perhaps you’d want a more artsy low key celebration, have a gander round the LGBT+ craft market, or why not meet like-minded people whilst crafting your own zine.
LGBTQ+ Craft Market
Marvel at the craft and creativity of LGBTQ+ community with the SoLo Craft Fair’s special LGBTQ+ market. Browse through stalls selling illustration, showcasing the talents of Sophie Kathleen, to Taylor Shaw ceramics, plus homeware, trinkets, fashion, and lots more. Zine Dating at The Common Press
Fancy learning how to make a zine, make friends or let sparks fly? The recently opened creative queer hub, The Common Press (think an aesthetic fusion of an artsy LBGTQ+ book store and coffee shop) is hosting a day event, Zine Dating. Get inspired and browse through the Grrrl Zine Library. Once you’ve come up with your design, you’ll get plenty of craft supplies and guidance to work your creativity. All the whilst, if you’re keen to find a date, you’ll be able to let a matchmaker know what you’re looking for and you’ll get matched. 12 September, 11 – 5pm.
