Martin Compston Joins ITV’s Red Eye For Series 2

Last year, gripping aeroplane drama Red Eye got everyone talking – so we were thrilled to hear a sequel was in the works. Here’s everything we know so far about Red Eye series 2, plus when we will get to see it.

What Will Happen?

The second series of Red Eye will reintroduce us to DS Hana Li (Jing Lusi) who had to race against the clock to decipher the conspiracy surrounding disgraced doctor Matthew Nolan (Richard Armitage). In series 2, Hana must face a new case – and this time she is forced to set aside past differences and collaborate with an old colleague (played by Martin Compston) to solve another high-stakes conspiracy.

The Cast

Jing Lusi is back leading Red Eye for another series, which she describes as ‘incredibly exciting’, adding she is ‘thrilled to be sharing this rollercoaster with the brilliant Martin Compston’. Richard Armitage will not be returning for series 2.

Best known for his leading role as DI Steve Arnott in the BBC’s long-running anti-corruption drama Line of Duty, Compston has recently starred in Vigil, Mayflies and The Rig. He will star alongside Lusi to solve the conspiracy – though we don’t know much else about his character just yet.

‘I’m delighted to be joining the Red Eye team,’ Compston says. ‘Hoping to build on the massive success of the first series and give viewers another thrilling ride.’

Release Date

No news just yet on when we will get to see Red Eye series 2, though we are told filming is ‘well underway’. We expect an autumn/winter 2025 launch.
