What to Do Today: See the Miaz Brothers ‘Anonymous’ Exhibition

Miaz Brothers

Lady

The These Milan-born and Valencia-based artists are presenting 16 new works at an exhibition entitled ‘Anonymous’, which opened today 16 March.

The Miaz Brothers’ unique practice uses acrylic paint to create portraits on canvas. This exhibition makes use of a new, bolder brush stroke, which is new to the artists, yet relies on the duo’s typical style. The portraits appear out of focus, prompting the viewer to look beyond the line, become more in tune with their perception and imagination, as well as utilise mnemonic associations to make sense of the paintings.

Old Man

‘It is an exercise for the inner spirit; a exible experience of stretching the awareness of what we see and perceive; a stimulation for the consciousness and the limits of our idea of the world and its symbols. We are trying to force the viewer to interact with the image and to do so in a sensitive effort by ltering it through the perception and the process of identification to achieve something not limited but boundless and personal.’ – The Miaz Brothers, 2018

Where & When: 16 March – 21 April 2018; 29 Sackville Street, Mayfair, London, W1S 3DX; Free admission;  Tuesday-Saturday 10am-6pm
