@jack.designs tells us how to get the job done
When it comes to the infamous Sunday reset, Jack Callaghan is something of an expert. Better known as @jack.designs, he’s amassed more than 1.3 million followers on both Instagram and TikTok, posting wildly successful (and extremely cathartic) videos showcasing cleaning, organising and decluttering. We asked him how to create the perfect Sunday reset routine.
Exclusive: Sunday Reset Hacks From TikTok’s Jack Designs
While giving your home a weekly clean is always a good idea, the prospect might not exactly spark joy – so you might be looking for a bit of motivation.
‘Your Sunday Reset doesn’t have to feel like a chore,’ explains TikTok’s Jack Designs. ‘Make it enjoyable, stay energised and turn cleaning into a moment of self-care.’ Need some tips? Here’s the secret to the perfect Sunday reset routine…

Think of your Sunday reset as a weekly mental check-in
‘According to research by OVO, half of Brits say they crave the alone time cleaning routines give them,’ Jack tells us. ‘In fact, 72 percent find it genuinely satisfying – so use it as a chance to clear visual and mental clutter before a new week begins. Whether it’s folding laundry or wiping down surfaces, simple, repetitive tasks can calm the mind, reduce decision fatigue, and give you a quiet sense of control.’
Practise habit-stacking
An efficient Sunday reset isn’t just about cleaning, but setting up for the week ahead – and you can tick plenty of things off your list at the same time thanks to the habit-stacking method.
‘Doing a face mask while you scrub down the bathroom, or popping on teeth whitening strips while you clean the sink? Easy win,’ says Jack. ‘Planning outfits? Tackle that chair-drobe (we all have one) of clean laundry by creating ready-to-go looks: hang each on a separate hanger, and just like that, your laundry pile is gone and your week’s wardrobe is sorted.’

Refresh your bedding and towels
Changing your bed linen is, naturally, a vital part of any Sunday reset; after all, who doesn’t want to curl up under fresh sheets once the chores are done?
If you’re doing lots of laundry every week, however, you might want to consider a more eco-friendly wash. ‘Use laundry sanitiser to wash at just 20°C,’ advises Jack. ‘It saves energy while still keeping things hygienic.’
Use the time to charge your devices
If the prospect of your headphones running out of battery mid-commute is enough to give you the Sunday scaries, your weekend reset is also the perfect opportunity to make sure all your devices are charged up and ready to go.
‘I’d suggest setting up a dedicated charging station,’ says Jack. ‘Power up your phone, tablets, toothbrush, vacuum – and while you’re at it, clear out that drawer of random wires, too. You’ll boost battery life, reduce clutter, and finally let go of that charger from a decade ago.’

Get creative with your cleaning
While TikTok’s self-professed ‘cleanfluencers’ are often armed with an arsenal of cleaning gadgets, they’re far from essential – and plenty of household items will do the trick.
‘While I love cleaning gadgets because they can make things fun, you don’t need fancy tools for an effective reset,’ Jack confirms. ‘Your home is probably already full of clever cleaning hacks, like using an old sock as a dusting mitt for skirting boards; repurposing a toothbrush to scrub tricky corners; and heating lemon slices in a bowl of water in your microwave to loosen grime and freshen odours. You can also run a dishwasher cycle with a cup of vinegar or some squeezed lemon halves to remove grease, limescale and debris, improving water circulation and helping your dishwasher to clean more effectively.’
OVO’s Beyond rewards programme gives you two free hours of electricity every week this summer; find out more here.
