King's Ely Fashion and Textiles

Students from King’s Ely, studying fashion and textiles, will be showcasing their designs at the annual Spring Knitting and Stitching Show at London’s Olympia. The A-level students are currently preparing their pieces for the event, which runs from 2-5 March, dubbed as one of Europe’s biggest textiles exhibitions.

Alison Rhodes, Director of Art at King’e Ely Senior School says,

‘This is a wonderful opportunity for our students and is a valuable experience that contributes to their coursework, UCAS applications and future employment. King’s Ely students were invited to exhibit in the Textile Gallery at the show this year which will provide a wealth of useful contacts. Our students will be able to investigate new materials sourced from the show, as well as make contact with professional designers. Links have already been made with The Great British Sewing Bee!’

King’s Ely is known for producing some of the best fashion and textiles GCSE and A-level results in the country. Students go on to study at institutions such as Chelsea, Ravensbourne, Central Saint Martins, London College of Fashion, Royal School of Needlework, Edinburgh and Falmouth.
