University Places

Girls leave our sixth-form and secure places at top institutions and study a wide range of subjects.

Head Teacher’s Philosophy

We encourage independence and develop intellectual curiosity. Girls are nurtured, encouraged and challenged. Our emphasis is on the celebration and remarkable presence of girls. Our pupils are well-rounded and grounded; they are motivated and inspired; they respect fairness and have integrity; they are critical and analytical thinkers.

Outstanding Characteristics

At Portsmouth High School we focus on well-being and through encouraging girls to take on responsibilities and leadership opportunities their confidence grows as they realise what they can achieve. Facing risks and taking on new challenges with a ‘can-do’ attitude takes them forward in leaps and bounds ready for life beyond the school gates.
