Curriculum

The ‘rose’ of ‘Rosemead’ serves as an allegory for the school’s educational vision: the academic curriculum and cocurricular offering is a journey from roots to blooming buds. Rosemead’s approach is unique and speaks to an education that is fit what is required for the education of children today, preparing them for an uncertain future. Staff teach with five fundamental learning habits in mind, shaping how children learn: curiosity, communication, creativity, thinking, and thoughtful risk-taking.

Sport & The Arts

Each Rosemead journey is unique, carefully nurtured to prepare pupils to be their brilliant selves. Opportunities for artistic performances and sporting fixtures are numerous, and the school has access to the nearby Rosendale Playing Fields for sport and recreational activity. Rosemead’s integration with St Dunstan’s Education Group means the school joins in with various cross-group events every year, including at prestigious venues such as the Royal Festival Hall and Southwark Cathedral.

Pastoral Care

The school’s pastoral care is driven by four key values. The first is ‘respectful’: valuing others, listening to different perspectives and treating everyone with consideration. The second is ‘honest’: tell the truth, act with integrity and have the courage to admit when one is wrong. The third is ‘confident’: trust your growing abilities, contribute and be yourself; true confidence can also be quiet. Finally, the fourth value is ‘kind’: notice the needs and feelings of others and respond with warmth and empathy.

Exit Destinations

Leavers achieve a range of scholarships to St Dunstan’s College and other independent, grammar and state school seniors.

Head’s Philosophy

To ensure every child leaves Rosemead having loved school. We strive to make every child feel known and cared for, proud of their progress, well-equipped for their next school, and excited about their future.
