The Curriculum

Our learning programme is focused, in the main, around the subjects of the National Curriculum. This is then enhanced, not only by specialist tuition in sport, music, art, Latin, ICT and modern foreign languages, but also the extensive extra-curricular programme.

Pastoral Care

St Margaret’s prides itself on its high standard of pastoral care. Every effort is made to ensure that the children never feel lost or bewildered, and that they quickly find their feet and are given a sense of belonging. We have an established buddy system and an EASY (Enjoyment at School…Yes!) programme which acts as a regular reminder to the children that there is always someone to talk to and plays an important part in the settling process.

Recent Scholarships

St Mary’s Calne, Dauntsey’s, The Royal High School, Prior Park College, Sherborne Girls – academic, drama, music and sport.

Head Teacher’s Philosophy

Commit to excellence. St Margaret’s has an ethos that is based on ‘traditional values combined with an innovative approach’, providing a happy environment for all children in a friendly, caring community. Within this context, it is hoped that boys and girls will learn the value of hard work and how to accept discipline and responsibility.

Outstanding Characteristics

St Margaret’s has a culture which fosters creativity and helps children to become independent learners. We expect good manners and consideration for the needs of others, but at the same time we want the children to be inspired, not to be afraid to take risks and above all, have fun and enjoy learning!
