The Curriculum

The core of Witham’s mission is to educate the whole child, but the school is academically ambitious for every child. The academic curriculum offers depth and breadth as pupils work toward Common Entrance or Academic Scholarship examinations at 13+.

Games & the Arts

There are no boundaries to the sporting, music, art and performance opportunities on offer. Witham’s longer day allows pupils to take advantage of the breadth of activities on offer and develop interests and talent for life.

Pastoral Care

Witham is a small community with a family feel – staff know every pupil. ‘The Witham Way’ underpins the school’s values where pupils are encouraged to be their best self, to treat others how they wish to be treated, to share, to listen, to forgive, and to respect all members of the community. In addition to Form Tutors, every child is assigned a staff mentor, creating a family within a family.

Recent Scholarships

18 scholarhips in 2022 including academic, all-rounder, art, drama and sport awards to Gresham’s, Oakham, Oundle, Rugby, Stamford and Uppingham.

Head Teacher’s Philosophy

We believe in a holistic education that enables every child to reach their potential. A wide breadth of opportunities allows children to find areas in which they can excel, developing confidence and character. Learning is fun and the friendships children make stay with them for the rest of their lives.

Outstanding Characteristics

Witham is the only traditional, ‘all-singing, all-dancing’ flexi-boarding prep school for an hour’s radius from Stamford. It is an enviable setting in a stunning Queen Anne mansion surrounded by beautiful parkland with first-class facilities. Pupils’ secure places to the UK’s top senior schools, but they will tell you it is Steph the Chef’s food that makes Witham outstanding!
