The actress tapped Louis Vuitton for her big day

Wedding dress shopping for one bride is tough, but two? It’s an almost impossible task – unless you happen to be connected to Nicolas Ghesquière, women’s creative director at Louis Vuitton. Having tied the knot over Labour Day weekend, Chloë Grace Moretz and Kate Harrison were some of the best dressed brides of 2025 – thanks to a blue wedding dress, a cowboy hat moment and two after-party suits. Read on for the big reveal.

A Closer Look At Chloë Grace Moretz’s Wedding Dress

Actress Chloë Grace Moretz and model and photographer Kate Harrison are officially married – and the wedding dresses worn by the brides are, as expected, stunning.

While more ready to step into the spotlight now that they’re walking down the aisle, the couple has been pretty private about their relationship overall. Moretz and Harrison reportedly started dating in 2018, but kept things on the down low until 2022, when the actress confirmed she was in a long term relationship via an interview with iNews. And in January 2025, an Instagram post showing off the couple’s matching rings confirmed their engagement.

Flash forward to the summer, with Moretz and Harrison married – and we have a sneak peek at the brides’ chic ceremony gowns (plus their post-ceremony looks).

Who Designed Her Wedding Dress?

It was French-Belgian fashion designer Nicolas Ghesquière who had the honour of designing both Chloë Grace Moretz and Kate Harrison’s wedding dresses. As one of the major brand ambassadors for Louis Vuitton, at which Ghesquière is women’s creative director, it made sense for Moretz to tap into the label’s bespoke bridal offering.

‘When we got engaged, I knew immediately that I wanted to reach out to Nicolas [Ghesquière] and Louis Vuitton [to] see if he would be interested in making my wedding dress,’ the actress recounted in a behind-the-scenes fitting interview with Vogue. ‘[I] got a very overwhelmingly excited response from Nicolas that not only would he be willing to make my wedding dress but he also wanted to include Kate in that – and to make both of our wedding dresses and our after-party looks. To include my fiancé and my partner in that, it just speaks very highly to Nicolas’s character, the community that he’s created at LV – it just feels really monumental in a way.’

‘You and Kate had such a vision,’ Ghesquière added. ‘It was very clear, since the first day we sat and talked about the best news. It’s a dream.’

What Did Chloë Grace Moretz’s Wedding Dress Look Like?

Ditching the traditional white bridal gown, Chloë Grace Moretz opted for a sleek blue dress designed with spaghetti straps, tiered satin ruffles, a long train and sparkling embroidery around the bodice. ‘I honestly don’t even know if words can put together how I feel,’ she said of her dress. ‘I love that it feels very Old Hollywood, and of course the colour.’

Staying true to her colour palette, she teamed up the gown with blue satin opera gloves and a dramatic blue chapel veil that trailed behind her.

Was The Wedding Dress Her ‘Something Blue’?

For the actress, the dress itself did count as her ‘something blue’ – but it also came with a much more sentimental meaning. ‘The birth of the color [blue] started when I went to the Academy Gala with LV, and I wore this blue leather dress,’ she explained to Vogue. ‘I remember immediately talking to [my stylist] Nell [Kalonji], and I was like, “maybe we should think about doing this [color for my wedding].”’

And from the start, Moretz knew she wouldn’t have settled for a traditional wedding dress. ‘I never really envisioned a wedding dress in my mind growing up,’ she explained, ‘so when we started talking about what that would look like, I knew I would do something non-traditional, and not wear white, and kind of have it feel different, and I think it really does. It just feels like me.’

Did Chloë Grace Moretz Have A Second Wedding Dress?

While Chloë Grace Moretz didn’t have a second dress, she did have a second suit. The custom outfit she wore for the after-party consisted of a tie-front jacket with lace-trimmed hem, which showcased the skin at the actress’ sides and back, and a pair of tailored trousers. Both items were reportedly inspired by a 2019 Louis Vuitton runway look – one which came complete with a cowboy hat.

‘I remember seeing the runway version, and it had this cowboy hat, and to [now] see it created to my proportions, it’s just so beautiful,’ Moretz said of the outfit. ‘And a little bit of “Yee-haw, baby!”’

It was also at this point that the actress chose for a more traditional bridal colour. ‘Originally, they talked about the after-party look being blue as well, but then, since the wedding dress is blue, they decided to have a white moment with the after-party look.’ But don’t be fooled: Moretz made sure tradition ended there, and the resulting look was a modern bride’s dream. ‘I especially love it because you can see my tattoos peeking on the side,’ she commented. ‘I feel like I could ride a horse and go run a Fortune 500, all in the same day!’

What Did Kate Harrison Wear?

Chloë Grace Moretz’s soon-to-be wife, Kate Harrison, was also dressed in Louis Vuitton for their big day – but the similarities between the two brides’ outfits ends there.

‘I always knew I wanted something that highlighted my silhouette and came in at my waist,’ Harrison told Vogue in the same interview. ‘And I’ve always loved this soft sweetheart neckline. When I had that meeting with Nicolas, and I mentioned the idea of embellishment he just lit up. I couldn’t even imagine a pattern or [think of an] idea to even suggest, and he just created this artwork of flowing embroidery.’

The photographer’s resulting ceremony dress was a two-piece number consisting of an embellished bustier and skirt, with a sweetheart neckline and delicate metallic embroidery covering the whole ensemble. In behind-the-scenes photos, it looks like Harrison teamed up the gown with a birdcage veil in the front and a cathedral length veil in the back.

Her after-party look, like Moretz’, also ditched the traditional dress – instead opting for a sequin-embroidered bodice and trousers with a sheer overlay on top, decorated with thin metallic spaghetti straps and a line of buttons down the front.
