The Biggest Nail Trends For Autumn 2025
We’re predicting a careful blend of classics and newcomers this season – think red manis and moody hues, magnetic finishes and 3D embellishments – and even a naked nail or two. Intrigued? These are the autumn 2025 nail trends to know:
Trends At A Glance
- Naked Nails
- Milky Tea
- Black Cherry
- 3D Nails
- Magnetic Finishes
- Bronzed Metallics
- Mocha Mani
- Moody Hues
1. Naked Nails
While minimal, barely-there nail polish has always been popular (shout out to the clean girl aesthetic), this season they’re backed by celebrity approval. ‘Following Taylor Swift’s engagement announcement, the “naked nail” look is back in the spotlight and is set to be everywhere this season,’ says Leighton Denny MBE, nail expert and founder of Leighton Denny Nails. ‘Think of it as your nails but better – sheer nudes, milky whites and silky beige shades that enhance the natural beauty of your nails.’
‘The beauty is in its versatility, and the fact there is a nude to suit every skin tone and nail shape,’ adds Tinu Bello, manicurist and Mylee Senior Ambassador. ‘Celebrities like Taylor Swift have recently shown off pared-back manis, so I predict that nude minimalism will be the understated staple of AW25.’

2. Milky Tea
Sheer, milky finishes are also back on our radar this season. ‘A milky tea manicure is a softer, subtler look for AW25,’ Tinu explains. ‘It’s a creamy, beige-nude finish with just a touch of warmth. The look is polished but understated and gives effortlessly groomed nails without shouting for attention. It also fits quite neatly into TikTok’s quiet luxury aesthetic, and looks amazing with chunky knits, tailored coats and pared-back jewellery. Celebrities known for their minimalist style, from Zendaya to Hailey Bieber, have leaned into this kind of muted manicure, making it a good fit for this season’s more refined mood.’

3. Black Cherry
Moving away from nude tones towards classic shades, Leighton tells us that dark, rich reds are making a comeback. ‘Black cherry nails offer a rich, deep hue that exudes sophistication and allure,’ notes Leighton. ‘Red is timeless, but each season it reinvents and revamps itself, and this darker, juicier red is perfect for autumn. Celebrities like Lily James have embraced this shade recently, proving how versatile and statement-making it can be. It’s the perfect balance of classic and modern, which is why it’s set to be a huge trend this autumn.’

4. 3D Nails
And an even more dramatic look comes courtesy of 3D finishes. ‘For anyone who likes a statement mani, 3D nails bring the drama,’ says Tinu. ‘This trend is all about turning your manicure into accessories. Think raised gems, sculptural swirls, metallic droplets or pearl accents layered on top of a glossy base. This trend has been making waves on catwalks, where oversized crystals and textured embellishments have been popular, and it’s trickling down to salon nail art in more wearable ways.’

5. Magnetic Finishes
The experts also predict the return of shimmering, metallic textures – but with a twist. ‘Magnetic manicures are the cool-girl upgrade on classic metallic nails, using cat eye polishes and magnets to create that multidimensional effect across the nail,’ highlights Tinu. ‘The result is a slick, dimensional shimmer that shifts in the light, adding depth and drama without being too over the top. They will be particularly popular in jewel tones for autumn. I predict a lot of emerald, sapphire and garnet, anything moody will go.’

6. Bronzed Metallics
Elsewhere, metallics take on the autumn’s favourite hues. ‘Metallics are evolving this season, and burnished copper nails are a key trend,’ confirms Leighton. ‘They add warmth and subtle shimmer to the fingertips, catching the light without being overpowering. Celebrities such as Hailey Bieber have been spotted in similar copper tones on red carpets, proving the shade’s versatility. It’s perfect for those who want a modern yet wearable finish for the season.’

7. Mocha Mani
And, as always, expect plenty of chocolate, coffee and caramel hues this autumn. ‘Chocolate tones are the ultimate cozy autumn nails,’ emphasises Leighton. ‘Think rich, versatile shades that aren’t as bold as black but resonate with the season.’
‘They’re easily one of the most wearable looks for autumn,’ adds Tinu. ‘Think creamy latte shades and deep chocolate tones. They feel cool and on trend without being over the top, making them a versatile choice for both day and night. The rise of brown tones in fashion – reflected in Pantone’s seasonal palette –has naturally spilled into nails, giving this shade a luxurious, fashion-forward edge. It’s also a flattering colour family across all skin tones, which is why nail artists are tipping it as the season’s go-to.’

8. Moody Hues
The other colours we’re predicting will be a hit in the salon? Moody, dark shades. ‘Think deep, dramatic hues,’ says Tinu. ‘Inky navy, oxblood, forest green and near-black purples will all be popular as they are deep and sultry. These shades bring a touch of edge and trend while still feeling sophisticated, making them an easy way to elevate an autumnal mani.’
