If you’re looking to get something really special as a Christmas present this year, turn your attention to the auction houses for truly unique finds. One of the best pre-Christmas sales on our radar is the Sotheby’s sale of British jeweller Shaun Leane’s archive on 4 December in New York.
Couture Fashion Jewellery – The Personal Archive of Shaun Leane
On Monday 4 December Sotheby’s New York will hold the sale of British jeweller Shaun Leane’s archives, titled Couture Fashion Jewellery – The Personal Archive of Shaun Leane. Containing iconic pieces from his personal archives including collaborations with Alexander McQueen and pieces worn at the Met Ball by the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker. If you want to place a bid from the UK, you can bid via phone or email as well as in person.

Shaun was inspired by the success of the Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty exhibition to open his pieces up to a wider audience, and decided to open the archive up for auction having struggled to decide on a private buyer for his entire collection. The only catch is that if pieces go to private buyers, they must be available for upcoming jewellery exhibits so that they can be appreciated by the general public, too.
The collection will be on show from 30th November at Sotheby’s New York ahead of the 4th December auction date.
