The Curriculum

At Bredon, education isn’t one-size-fits-all. The school offers three educational pathways – academic, creative and vocational – so students can follow a route that suits their strengths and aspirations. Whether a student is aiming for university, an apprenticeship or a hands-on career, they will find a programme that works for them.

Sport & The Arts

Bredon’s sports qualification isn’t just about developing physical ability; it’s also about building teamwork, resilience, discipline and confidence. This practical, engaging course is designed for students who want to deepen their understanding of sport, exercise and the body while preparing for further study or active careers. At Bredon, staff believe art a powerful way to express who you are, explore ideas and develop practical skills that can lead to exciting careers. Whether a student’s passion lies in fine art, textiles or a combination of both, Bredon’s Art, Craft & Design GCSE gives them the freedom to shape their own creative journey.

Pastoral Care

At Bredon, every student’s wellbeing comes first. Staff believe that children learn best when they feel safe, supported and valued, which is why pastoral care and safeguarding are at the heart of everything at the school. As well as providing a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive, the school trains all staff and volunteers to recognise and respond to concerns and carries out rigorous checks to ensure all adults working with students are suitable. Kindness, respect and openness are promoted across the whole community. Bredon’s aim is to ensure every student feels safe, cared for and ready to flourish in the classroom and beyond. This approach has been recognised nationally, with the school winning a SACPA Outstanding Commitment to Safeguarding Award in 2024.

Exit Destinations

Students go on to a variety of destinations: employment, apprenticeships, further education and higher education.

Head Teacher’s Philosophy

To immerse all pupils in a community where individuality is valued, talents are nurtured and learning extends far beyond the classroom. As a proudly dyslexia-specialist school, we redefine what success looks like for every child. We celebrate individuality and provide an environment where students are encouraged to discover their strengths, follow their passions and grow in confidence.
