Best London Theatre Packages To Book ASAP

MJ The Musical x STK Steakhouse

STK Strand x MJ The Musical

Best For: Pre-theatre dinner plus tickets

To see MJ The Musical on stage is to be transported back to a time pre smartphones (you’d wonder how he’d fare in our divisive social media times). But – back in the 80s and 90s – Michael Jackson was the biggest pop star on the planet. The musical takes us to 1992 and a nose behind the scenes of the preparations for his Dangerous world tour, which was to become one of the most ambitious, theatrical and technically advanced concert tours in history. Through flashbacks, Jackson’s extraordinary story is revealed from beginnings in the Jackson 5 to his transformation to the King of Pop. And what a king he was. His songs – from ‘Bad’ to ‘Billie Jean’ – are some of the most iconic in the world and with razor-sharp choreography, electric energy and a sizzling light display, Jacko fans will be fully indulged with his canon of hits. You’ll be on your feet by the end.

To make it the ultimate London night out though, head for the best steak dinner in town at STK Strand, a 15 minute stroll away from the Prince Edward Theatre down to the ME Hotel on the Strand. Its dinner-and-show package gives you both the thrill of the stage and the decadence of dining at London’s slick riposte to the modern American steakhouse. Guests can enjoy a two-course pre-theatre dinner and drink for £29 per person, or go all in with the £85 package, which includes tickets to MJ The Musical. The steak, of course, is the menu’s star but you can also tuck into truffle arancini, roasted salmon or fried chicken sliders – washed down with the aptly named Show Stopper cocktail, a sparkling medley of gin, lychee, elderflower and Moët. You can’t beat it. It’s just a thriller. By Lucy Cleland

Where? STK Strand (ME London, 336-337 Strand, London WC2R 1HA) and Prince Edward Theatre (Old Compton St, London W1D 4HS) – a 15 minute walk.
