In Hollywood there’s only so many A-list approved properties for the States’ biggest stars to call home. It’s no wonder, then, that this Hollywood Hills home boasts not one, not two, but three famous former owners. Previously owned by Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst, the property was then purchased by The O.C. and Nobody Wants This star Adam Brody. Today it’s Amanda Seyfried with her name on the lease – having bought up the home from her Jennifer’s Body co-star Brody back in 2011 for $1.85m. But it seems, that after 15 years, she’s now ready to hand over the keys, sticking her country-inspired abode on the market for $3.2m. Take a look inside.

Originally built in 1916, today Amanda Seyfried’s home maintains its period character, with modern updates introduced throughout. The quaint, white clapboard home with its wraparound porch looks like something out of a postcard, while similarly, calming, minimalist interiors sit within.

Extending to just 2,700 sqft, the two-storey property features three bedrooms and three bathrooms – plus a formal living room with a fireplace, a white and blue kitchen, and a light-filled sunroom views across the landscaped grounds.

Outside, the property is surrounded with lush gardens, which can best be appreciated from the spacious porch or the home’s balcony. Upstate New York

When she’s not hanging out in LA, Amanda Seyfried can be found on her farm in upstate New York. Her primary base, she purchased the 1930s-built Catskills farm in 2013. The Mamma Mia! star told the Wall Street Journal in 2023 that she ‘fell in love with the main house’s rustic stonework and the trellis between the house and stand-alone garage.’ She lives here with her mum, her husband (fellow actor Thomas Sadoski) and their two children, as well as a whole brood of animals. A registered, nonprofit rescue sanctuary, there are more than 40 rescued, donated or adopted animals on the farm – including a donkey named Gus, several goats, a pair of ponies, and a flock of ducks.

And it seems that with the sale of her LA home, the star is planning a more permanent move to this East Coast base. ‘Hollywood is really…it’s tricky, and it’s got a lot of personalities,’ Seyfried explained on CBS in November. ‘There are a lot of people that are working in a way that doesn’t necessarily make it feel like a safe place. This [farm] is exactly what I have always wanted.’

Manhattan Apartment

When she needs a city base, Seyfried has a Manhattan pied-à-terre. The Mean Girls star bought the apartment for a reported $2.52m in 2019. Located in an early 20th-century building in the Upper West Side, other famous faces to have called her building home include Nora Ephron, Cyndi Lauper, Al Pacino, Lena Horne, and Conan O’Brien.

She told Architectural Digest that when she first moved in ‘all that was there were windows’ – but that light was all she needed to convince her. She hired General Assembly to transform the place in a similar style to her farm upstate. ‘I just love history, and I love the smell of old wood,’ Seyfried said. ‘History has a smell to it. You know what I mean?’
