4 London Hotels Have Been Awarded New Michelin Keys

For many years Michelin focused on restaurants, awarding stars for culinary excellence. But in 2024, the Guide expanded into the world of hotels, introducing a new rating system called Michelin keys. Similarly to the stars system, hotels can be awarded one, two or three keys, judged by anonymous inspectors based on five key criteria: architecture and interior design, quality and consistency of service, personality and character, value for the price and contribution to the neighbourhood.

The 2026 list was announced on 18 September (published online rather than the typical in-person ceremony) with a whole host of hotels across the UK and Ireland securing new keys. In London, four hotels took home fresh awards – while a few were downgraded. 

Which London Hotels Got New Michelin Keys In 2026?

The Newman, Fitzrovia

One of London’s buzziest new boutique hotels, The Newman opened in Fitzrovia in February 2026. The first hotel in the Kinsfolk & Co group, it features an art deco-inspired design courtesy of Lind + Almond, who set out to channel the bohemian spirit of the neighbourhood with rich wood tones and hues of burnt red and green. Its restaurant, Brasserie Angelica, offers all-day European-style dining – think roast chicken pie and wood-fired steak followed by a standout cinnamon doughnut pudding. Meanwhile basement bar Gambit serves stellar cocktails like the Dazed & Confused, a tequila concoction which arrives smoking under a cloche. The Chancery Rosewood

Last year’s most talked about London hotel opening, The Chancery Rosewood landed in the former American Embassy building on Grosvenor Square to much acclaim. It quickly scooped up a whole host of awards, being named the best new luxury hotel of 2025 by Luxury Travel Intelligence (LTI) and winning five AA Red Stars. And now it has another string to add to its bow, having secured two Michelin keys in this year’s list. The mammoth all-suite hotel is known for its ultra-luxe feel – rooms feature marble-clad Italian bathrooms, many with their own terraces offering panoramic city views. Six Senses London, Bayswater

Another hotly anticipated new addition to the capital’s five-star hotel scene, Six Senses London arrived in the revamped Whiteley development in Bayswater this March. Wellness has long been pivotal to Six Senses properties, and the London branch is no exception: the subterranean spa is among the city’s finest, spanning 25,000 square feet and featuring a pool, numerous saunas, a biohacking suite, a floatation room and a standout gym. Pan Pacific London, the City

This sleek hotel perched beside Liverpool Street station has also earned its first Michelin key. Both its interiors and its food draw on the Far Eastern heritage of the Singapore-based Pan Pacific brand, with the restaurant Straits Kitchen serving Southeast Asian cuisine and the Straits Bar mixing up Asian-inspired cocktails. Which London Hotels Were Downgraded?

Both Bvlgari Hotel London and Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane went from three to two keys, while Covent Garden Hotel – part of the Firmdale group – dropped from two to one. Knightsbridge Hotel, also part of Firmdale, lost its key altogether.
