The BBC reality TV show will see celebs race from Borneo to Melbourne

We first watched five pairs of families, friends and colleagues race their way from London to Singapore back in 2019, glued to our tellies as the courageous contenders trekked across continents, contending with typhoons, political unrest, and gruellingly tight budgets along the way. With just a handful of cash and a physical map to guide them (the rules of the game also ban any air travel whatsoever), the duos battled to travel 12,000 miles and be the first to reach their destination in just 50 days.

Since then, the BBC reality TV show has gained a cult following, as we’ve watched six series – as well as three celebrity spin-off editions – of racers persevere through torrential rain and blistering heat from the comfort of our sofas. Now, the trailer for series four of Celebrity Race Across The World has finally landed. Here’s everything you need to know.

Everything You Need To Know About Celebrity Race Across The World Series 4

Which Celebrities Are Taking Part This Year?

Following in the footsteps of some stellar line ups that have included weather presenter Alex Beresford, radio presenter Scott Mills and Derry Girls actor Dylan Llewyn, this year’s celebrity selection doesn’t disappoint.

First up is singer and Eurovision 2022 entrant Sam Ryder with his tour manager Kaz. As these two will be used to the long stretches in each other’s company, they should be well-versed in any interpersonal conflicts – but in the jungles of Borneo there won’t be much opportunity to request a rider. Sam has just come off a run as the titular character in Jesus Christ Superstar, and he’ll need all the faith of a higher power to make it to the end before his competitors.

Next on the lineup is Ella Eyre, the British singer and songwriter whose pop hits include Waiting All Night (2013) and Came Here for Love (2017). She’ll be joined by childhood pal Nana as they battle the elements to try to beat their fellow contestants to Australia’s south coast. These two have been friends for years, so they’ll have to rely on the strength of their bond to traverse the jungles, rivers and deserts as they battle to win the series.

The second pairing is father-son duo, 71-year-old sports broadcaster Jeff Stelling and his son Matt. Jeff, whose credentials include Sky Sports, TalkSports Breakfast and Channel 4’s Countdown, is the oldest competitor of this series, and the joint-oldest ever to appear on the show. But his wisdom and experience may play to his advantage, as the competition has proven to be as much about logic as it is about physicality.

And finally, the youngest of the group are siblings Princess and Junior Andre, children of Katy Price and Peter Andre. Nineteen-year-old Princess is an influencer, and as of 2025 has starred in her own ITV reality documentary series The Princess Diaries, while 21-year-old Junior is a musician. As the parents of rather glamorous celebrities, they’re unlikely contestants for a competition testing physical and mental endurance – but then again, their parents did meet in the jungle on I’m A Celeb back in 2004, so they just may have the luck of destiny on their side!

Where will they be racing to?

Destinations thus far have included Norway, Chile and Colombia, but this year the racers are taking on sunnier climes. For the first time, production studio Studio Lambert is heading to Oceania: racers will start in Borneo, an island in southeast Asia, comprising parts of Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei. Setting off from Kuching, the Malaysian city on the west coast of the island, our duos will have to make their way through the island and across the Indian Ocean before traversing the entire length of Australia to reach Melbourne, their final destination.

While most of the distance covers just one country, travelling 7,500km – armed with just £26 per person per day and a physical map to guide them – is no mean feat.
