Win a beautiful limited-edition maxi shopper bag, inspired by the blockbuster exhibition, Grayson Perry: Smash Hits. Endorsed by Sir Grayson Perry, there are only 150 of these exclusive bags in the world, each one is unique.
The bags are part of a National Galleries of Scotland fundraising campaign to support its mission to make art work for everyone. This includes work with artists, and collaborating with communities and groups to educate, inspire and create art. For a limited time, anyone who supports the National Galleries of Scotland with a donation of £1000 or more will receive one of the limited-edition Grayson Perry: Smash Hits bags in thanks.
In 2023, the National Galleries of Scotland hosted one of its most popular exhibitions, Grayson Perry: Smash Hits. Throughout its run, the Royal Scottish Academy building in Edinburgh was adorned with enormous banners depicting Perry’s spectacular artwork, Our Town. When the exhibition closed, the National Galleries of Scotland wanted to create something special with the banners to commemorate the exhibition.
Scottish craft maker, and sustainability advocate, Amy Britton jumped at the chance to be involved. Handmade in Scotland by Amy, each of the oversized, everyday bags made from the banner material is one-of-a-kind. They all have a different pattern, a beautiful dark fabric lining, and an inside pocket featuring details of the project and an identification number.
Home to Scotland’s superb art collection, the National Galleries of Scotland has three galleries in Edinburgh. At the National, Modern and Portrait, visitors can discover treasures from Botticelli to Titian, the best modern art, famous faces and contemporary portraits of pop culture icons, and the largest collection of Scottish art in the world.
