The French villa dates back to 1920
There’s nothing quite as dreamy as a villa on the French Riviera – and this spectacular property once served as Estee Lauder’s holiday home. Take a peek.
Look Inside… Estee Lauder’s Former Holiday Home In Cannes
This breathtaking property was allegedly Estee Lauder’s favourite holiday home – and it’s easy to understand why. Dating back to the 1920s (but purchased by the renowned businesswoman and her husband in 1961), the villa boasts an outdoor swimming pool, lush landscaped gardens and dazzling sea views. It’s located in one of Cannes’ most prestigious areas: the neighbourhood of Le Californie on Avenue du Roi Albert, which is home to a whole host of celebrities and millionaires.
Step inside the villa and you’ll find six bedrooms and five bathrooms, plus multiple reception spaces. The spacious kitchen/dining room is complete with Crittall-style doors which lead out to a covered terrace commanding wonderful views over the gardens and beyond.
Heading outside to the gardens themselves, you’ll spot raised flower beds, patio areas, sun loungers, and, of course, the all-important heated pool. There’s also a charming pool house and another large, shaded terrace which is perfect for al fresco dining.
Some of Estee Lauder’s most famous perfumes were created in this very house; when her children sold it after her death, the current owners discovered an array of fascinating documents and correspondence (including a letter from Stanley Marcus, founder of luxury retailer Neiman Marcus, regarding the sale of Estee Lauder products at Harrods.) It’s no surprise that the property was so beloved by the queen of beauty: it’s a gorgeous spot. If you want to snap it up, it’s on the market for €7.95 million (or £6,779,042, to be exact).
