Plus, the best Royal podcasts for monarchy mavens

News just in: Megan Markle will be making a return podcasting platforms in the near future. The Duchess of Sussex has a new partner to bring her podcasts back to life, with the first part of their partnership set to hit earbuds this spring. Here’s everything you need to know about the former royal’s podcast.

Meghan Markle To Re-Release Archetypes, Plus A New Podcast Project In The Works

Following the news that Spotify‘s exclusive podcast deal with Prince Harry and Meghan’s Archewell Productions ended last summer – with reports claiming the royal couple had underdelivered on their part by only releasing one show, Archetypes – it was expected that they would not be returning to podcasting anytime soon. Until now.

The Duchess of Sussex is reported to have entered a new deal with podcast network Lemonada Media, who will distribute the first season of Markle’s Archetypes series from spring 2024 and work with the couple to develop a new, as-yet-untitled original podcast also hosted by Markle.

Archetypes was originally released in August 2022. Hosted by Markle, it aimed to investigate, dissect and subvert the labels that try to hold women back. In the new deal, it will be available for the first time off Spotify, with Lemonada overseeing ad sales and distribution. The podcast has had over 10 million downloads to date, and debuted as Spotify’s number one podcast in 47 countries around the world.

‘I’m proud to now be able to share that I am joining the brilliant team at Lemonada to continue my love of podcasting,’ said Markle said in a statement. ‘Being able to support a female-founded company with a roster of thought provoking and highly entertaining podcasts is a fantastic way to kick off 2024. Our plan to re-release Archetypes so that more people can now have access to it, as well as launching a dynamic new podcast are well in the works. I’m so eager to be able to share it soon, and am overjoyed to be joining the Lemonada family.’

‘We are beyond honoured that Meghan has trusted us to help democratize access to Archetypes, and that so many more people around the world will have access to the series soon,’ added Lemonada CEO and co-founder Jessica Cordova Kramer. ‘Meghan’s talent as host, creator and conversationalist is unparalleled and we are thrilled to co-create a new series with her that fosters her approach to creating art that matters.’

And while you wait for Markle’s return to podcasting, you can tune in to one of the brilliant royal podcasts…
