June 2026 In London: Events, Pop-Ups, Openings

Egerton House

Embark On A Chelsea Walking Tour

It’s no secret that we at Country and Town House love everything Chelsea. But as well as we know these streets, many secrets hide behind the pretty facades and beneath the storied cobblestones. As part of The Egerton House Hotel’s Salon Series, the ‘Chelsea Then & Now’ Walking Tour & Cocktail Evening will help us delve into this in June with the assistance of a lifelong local who will guide guests around the neighborhood, uncovering the stories, characters, and quiet evolutions that have shaped one of London’s most historic neighborhoods. The evening begins with an introduction at Egerton House Hotel before Blue Badge tourist guide Emma Matthews takes us right into the heart of Chelsea’s tales. Then return to the hotel where a Chelsea-inspired cocktail and a selection of canapĂ©s await.

Where? 17-19 Egerton Terrace, London SW3 2BX

Try Anya Hindmarch’s Quirky Ice Cream Pop-Up

London’s wackiest ice cream spot is back for the summer, popping up at Anya Hindmarch’s Village in Chelsea for its fifth edition. Forget your classic chocolate and vanilla: at The Ice Cream Project, scoops are inspired by pantry items, vintage drinks and condiments, and this year’s menu is suitably unusual. Flavours include sweetcorn, golden syrup studded with chunks of Yorkshire pudding, stock cubes and even toothpaste… but don’t knock them until you’ve tried them. If that all sounds a bit too left-field for your palate, stay in more familiar territory with the Walker’s Shortbread, which sees vanilla ice cream stirred with crumbs of shortbread fingers, or the Illy Coffee made with Arabica coffee beans and Devonshire cream. Feeling brave? Head to the Anya Cafe next door for a blind tasting of all 15 flavours.

Mayfield Lavender Farm

Take A Trip To Mayfield Lavender Farm

As cherry blossom season wanes, a new flower begins popping up across London: the fragrant purple lavender. While many of the prettiest lavender farms are found outside of the capital, there’s one which just fits within the city’s boundaries, Mayfield Lavender Farm. This year the site is marking its 20th anniversary with new features like The Potting Station, where you can learn how to propagate your own lavender, alongside a meditative space and a bee and butterfly trail. You’ll also find street food traders and an on-site shop selling lavender-infused ice cream, cider, cream teas and more.

Bar des Pres

Visit The New Bar des Prés

There’s a new address for Chef Cyril Lignac’s beloved Bar des PrĂ©s, moving the famed spot deeper into the heart of Mayfair. You’ll now find Lignac’s signature French/East Asian cuisine in a glamorous dining room on South Audley Street, with elegant interiors – think polished wood, tactile textiles, and silk-toned walls – conceived by Lázaro Rosa Violán Studio. The menu’s big hitters remain: the moreish crunchy crab and avocado galette, the flavour-packed California rolls, the playful vanilla mash. And there are new dishes to discover, too, including an unctuous smash burger. There are no bad choices on this excellent menu, and regardless of what you choose, everything is finished with French flair and East Asian precision – including those interiors, which commence the cross-continental conversation when you cross the threshold.

This year, the London Museum is hosting a month of talks and workshops that explore London’s queer history, covering topics from queer activism in the 80s to the infamous link between queerness and a life at sea. Venues like Colours Hoxton and HERE at Outernet are hosting drag brunches and club nights, while the Pride Ride returns on 27 June 2026, an annual bike ride soundtracked by IBikeLondon’s legendary fleet of disco bikes.

Over 70 years since she died Fridamania remains rife, with the Mexican painter’s face still plastered all over homeware, tote bags, fridge magnets and more. So how did we get here? This June, the Tate Modern is exploring how Frida Kahlo became one of the most influential artists of all time in a major exhibition (the first dedicated to the artist in eight years). It will feature over 30 of Kahlo’s works spanning paintings, documents, photographs and memorabilia, alongside 200 pieces from the artists she inspired from later generations.

A tennis court at Wimbledon

Go To Wimbledon

Round up the month with a trip to Wimbledon, the world-famous tennis tournament which takes over London for two weeks each summer. Those who weren’t lucky enough to nab tickets in the ballot can still attend by waiting in the famous queue – every day, Wimbledon allocates around 500 tickets for Centre Court, 500 for Court 1 and 500 for Court 2. Once inside, you’ll have the chance to watch the world’s biggest tennis stars in action, all while sipping Pimm’s and tucking into strawberries and cream. Alternatively, every year al fresco screens pop up across London’s pub gardens and green spaces, often with special themed dishes and drinks.
