The US-born show is coming to the UK
Watched all of Being Gordon Ramsay on Netflix and looking for your next dose of the fiery celebrity chef? Tune into Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service, which drops on Channel 4 today after launching in the US last year.
Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service: What To Expect
Ramsay has plenty of experience in transforming struggling restaurants – and documenting it for the small screen. One of his most popular TV shows of all time is Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares, which documented the chef’s attempts to revive eateries on the brink of closure; it ran for five seasons in the UK and sparked a US version with another nine seasons. And now, he’s back at it again for Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service.
This time round, rather than being in the midst of the chaos, Ramsay is watching the day-to-day running of restaurant kitchens around America from afar via secret surveillance in a bid to uncover where they’re going wrong. Each time, he’s assisted by a covert insider, who helps install the equipment and assists Ramsay in an after-hours examination including a black light kitchen investigation (a cleanliness check that uses ultraviolet to identify hidden bacteria and contaminants).
‘By the time Ramsay reveals his identity, it will be too late for staff to cover up their culinary crimes,’ reads the synopsis. ‘Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service will be his toughest assignment yet as he takes drastic measures to transform not only the restaurant but also the staff, because Gordon knows he can upgrade the menu and renovate the restaurant, but the most important change has to come from the people. Are the restaurant and staff willing to accept Gordon’s mission, or are they too far gone to be saved?’
Speaking about the programme when it first launched in 2025, Ramsay said, ‘Over the years, I’ve embarked on many daring adventures alongside my partners at FOX. And Secret Service is the most intrepid of them all! With undercover help and cutting-edge technology, I get to go full on “MI6” with these restaurants…and they’ll never see it coming.’
Michael Thorn, President for Fox Television Network, adds, ‘Gordon is among the most prolific creative forces in television history, and along the way, has amassed an unbelievable fanbase, reaching nearly 6 billion total viewers and counting.
‘With limitless talent, Gordon infuses each of his series with its own remarkable, distinctive personality and unrivalled stakes, a reputation he certainly upholds with this terrific new concept that will once again keep his fans endlessly engaged.’
The first venue to unknowingly go under Ramsay’s watchful eye is Parthenon, a family-run Greek restaurant in Washington. Ramsay quickly finds out the key problems are the sub-par equipment, hygiene standards and tired decor, and the only solution is for the owner’s son to take over the business. Also under the spotlight is Italian bistro Caffe Boa. It’s owned by husband-and-wife duo Patrick and Jenny, but Ramsay discovers that their toxic working relationship is proving detrimental – both to the success of the business and for their marriage.

What Else Is Gordon Ramsay Working On?
It’s been a busy couple of years for the chef: alongside launching his biggest venture yet at 22 Bishopsgate – which was documented in a series for Netflix – Ramsay will be reviving Hell’s Kitchen UK for ITV following the opening of the first Hell’s Kitchen London restaurant. We haven’t yet got a release date, but in the meantime there are plenty of other shows in the chef’s canon available to stream now.
