London is particularly magical around this time of year. Alongside the Christmas markets, the twinkling lights and the outdoor ice rinks, the city also plays host to an array of winter pop-ups, which bring festive cheer with hot toddies, alpine-inspired food, twinkling lights and more. Here we highlight the best to visit in 2023, from rooftop cinemas to waterside igloos.

Rooftop Cinema Pop-Up

For the fourth year running, Kitchen at Holmes’ festive cinema pop-up is returning to its rooftop terrace, screening Christmas films – from The Holiday to Die Hard – from 22 November–21 December 2023. Overlooking charming Marylebone mews, guests can tuck into a delicious winter tasting menu with a glass of champagne before settling into cosy arbours adorned with fur throws for the flick with a Christmas cocktail and popcorn in hand.

100 Wardour Street winter pop-up

Christmas In Soho

London’s legendary drinking, dining and dancing destination has transformed into a ‘Christmas in Soho’ pop-up this winter. Partnering with Cîroc, 100 Wardour Street is a winter wonderland feast for the senses, featuring a festive garland archway, traditional Christmas trees, twinkling fairy lights, shiny baubles, glittery giant bows and red berries galore. There’s a menu of festive bites, plus a dedicated Espresso Martini Menu curated by Bar Manager Ely Guilloux, spanning toasted marshmallow, mocha and dark cacao flavours. All this set to Christmas bangers spun by the DJ.

Winter Wonderlounge

Kick start your festive celebrations at Richmond Hill Hotel, where Winter Wonderlounge has returned for 2023. This al fresco terrace is fully kitted out with cosy blankets and fairy lights while guests tuck into warming cheese or chocolate fondue, and sip on warming drinks.

Miracle At Henrietta

Renowned Stateside for its creative cocktails garnished with a side of kitsch, this festive pop-up is returning to Covent Garden’s Henrietta Hotel this winter, with a bright and nostalgic take on festive decor. Sip on festive cocktails like the Christmaspolitan while tucking into delicious snacks from the acclaimed Italian Supper Club while admiring vibrant retro decs and coloured lights all around.

Skate At Somerset House

Every year, Somerset House’s neoclassical courtyard is transformed into a festive wonderland – and 2023 is no different. Switzerland Tourism is the headline sponsor, bringing Swiss goodness to Chalet Suisse with Jimmy Garcia. Plus Rock Angel rose is hosting a series of Skate Lates, featuring rink-side deck takeovers from a curated line-up of contemporary DJs, artists and collectives. But if you’re not keen on skating, it’s worth just popping down to soak up the premier festive vibes.

The Bloomsbury’s Dalloway Terrace has been transformed into a festive wonderland inspired by the history and elegance of Maison Belle Époque in collaboration with Perrier-Jouët Champagne. Transformed by luxury florist Princess & Ko, cosy up under sheepskin blankets and heaters amid deep red Virgina Creeper, gilded anemones, berries and twinkling fairy lights.

Sky Garden winter pop-up

Sky Garden x Moët & Chandon

Immerse yourself in a sky-high winter wonderland at Sky Garden this Christmas, where a pop-up in partnership with Moët & Chandon will see snowy frosted trees, twinkling lights and classic Christmas reds, greens and golds among the rich, leafy foliage and exotic plants. Plus, special cocktails will be available to try: the Velvet Elixir, the Berry Sour and the Fireside Royale, all priced at £16.50.
