Everything We Know About Yellowjackets Season 4

Flitting between 1996 and 2021, Yellowjackets traces the fallout of a plane crash in the Canadian wilderness, which left a team of New Jersey high school girls soccer players grappling to survive for 19 months. Then we jump to the present, where the trauma of the ordeal continues to impact the lives of the survivors. A grown-up, female twist on the Lord of the Flies for the present day, with much more cannibalism, the show is only growing in popularity across the seasons. What Happened In Yellowjackets Season 3?

Yellowjackets season 3 picked up in the summer, with the crash survivors having rebuilt their mini civilisation. While it started all idyllic, the finale saw Shauna take her place as the antler queen, and manipulate things so that Mari ends up the subject of a hunt – which led to the reveal that Mari was the mysterious ‘pit girl’ that we saw the girls eating in the series premiere. But before Shauna could begin her reign of terror, Natalie managed to sneak away with the newly repaired radio from the crashed plane, which Misty had kept hidden for most of the series. Natalie takes it up a mountain and radios for help, and thankfully, we hear someone answer.

In the present day, we saw the surprisingly alive Melissa murdering Van, while Shauna’s daughter Callie admitting to accidentally killing Lottie. Shaken up by the whole thing, she confesses her crime to her father – and the two of them agree to get as far away from Shauna as they can. Meanwhile, Taissa blames Shauna for Van’s death (Shauna did try to murder Melissa first) and it looks like Tai and Misty might be planning to make a move.

What Will Happen In Yellowjackets Season 4?

According to Paramount, season 4 will draw closer to the teens’ rescue from the wilderness, but the survivors’ long-awaited salvation threatens to expose their darkest secrets. In the present-day timeline, an old flame has a homecoming of her own, returning to town with a hidden agenda.

Will There Be A Yellowjackets Season 5?

Though it had originally been planned as a five-season show, a few months after the series was renewed for season 4, co-creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson revealed in an Instagram post that this would be the show’s final instalment. 

‘We’ve always known there would come a point when the story would tell us it wants to end, and it’s our belief that our job – our responsibility – is to listen. Telling this emotional, wild, and deeply human story has been a profoundly meaningful experience and a true honor for us, and we’re so very grateful to the brilliant cast, crew and writers who have bravely gone on the journey with us to bring it to life. Most of all, we want to thank the fans who have stuck with us through every moment, mystery and meal — the Hive is nothing without you!
