The esteemed Yorkshire hotel is growing

Home to a Michelin-starred restaurant helmed by chef Shaun Rankin, Grantley Hall has long been lauded for its culinary offering. And this summer, the five-star hotel is expanding its offering with the launch of a new pub, the Grantley Arms.
Village Pub The Grantley Arms Will Launch This Summer
Located just two minutes’ drive – or a pleasant country walk – from the hotel in the village of Grantley, the pub will be a celebration of the bountiful produce available in the Yorkshire region. Chef Gavin Swift, who currently works as the Senior Sour Chef at Grantley Hall, will head up the kitchen, focusing on seasonal twists on pub classics.
The interiors will be everything you’d hope for from a cosy countryside pub, with roaring fireplaces for the winter and an idyllic terrace for the warmer months, offering impressive views of the surrounding landscape.
‘At Grantley Hall, warm hospitality is at the heart of everything we do – and that same spirit is what makes a truly great local pub,’ said Grantley Hall’s Managing Director, Richard Sykes. ‘Whether it’s a leisurely lunch before check-in or a relaxed farewell meal after a stay, we see the pub as a natural extension of the Grantley experience – a place where quality, comfort and Yorkshire charm come together.’
Swift described his appointment as ‘real honour’, adding: ‘Having been part of the Grantley Hall team for several years, I’m proud to take everything we stand for – exceptional quality, local ingredients, and genuine Yorkshire hospitality – into a relaxed, countryside setting. The pub is a chance to celebrate great food in a way that feels approachable and familiar, while still upholding the high standards our guests know and love.’
Grantley Hall is one of C&TH’s favourite British hotels, set amid 38 acres of picture-perfect greenery on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. Housed in a historic Grade II listed mansion house which was revamped into a hotel in 2019, it’s home to 47 opulent bedrooms as well as an excellent spa (crowned one of the UK’s finest), complete with a dreamy indoor-outdoor pool.
Food is a pivotal part of the hotel. Alongside Rankin’s restaurant, there’s a classic brasserie, Fletchers Restaurant, an Asian-inspired bar, a quintessential afternoon tea experience, and an outdoor dining and drinking area called The Orchard, which opens its doors in the summer.
Grantley Hall has won a string of accolades for its hospitality offering over the years. It’s part of the Leading Hotels of the World collection – and last year, it was one of the first British hotels to secure two Michelin Key status.
We haven’t yet got an official opening date for The Grantley Arms, but it will launch at some point this summer. Visit grantleyhall.co.uk for more information.
