As ever could be venturing into hospitality

She’s already launched a cooking show and a collection of food products, but for her next venture Meghan Markle may be dipping her toe into the world of hospitality.

The Meghan Markle Restaurant & Hotel Rumours, Explained

According to recent reports highlighted by The Sun, Meghan has trademarked her lifestyle brand As ever for hospitality services. This will allegedly include ‘provision of food and drink’ and ‘temporary lodgings’, indicating a restaurant or hotel could be on the cards. We have lots of questions: would it be in LA? How luxe are we talking? And what kind of food would be served?

While nothing has been confirmed, it would be the natural next step for As ever (formerly called American Riviera Orchard), which is described as ‘more than a brand, it’s a love language’. In her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, we are invited into her California home – where she lives with Prince William and their two children, Archie and Lilibet – to get insight into her hosting style and go-to dishes, with guest appearances from a string of celebrity friends including actor Mindy Kaling and chef Roy Choi.

The series showcases Meghan’s love for food and entertaining. We see her curating welcome baskets for friends, and in one episode, Meghan speaks about her love for having guests over, saying: ‘when I have someone stay, one of my favourite things to do is prep the guest room.’

Many recipes from the show quickly went viral, including her focaccia and a skillet spaghetti dish. And soon after it aired, the inaugural drop of products from As ever dropped, including jam, herbal tea, wildflower honey and cookie mixes. We’re told there are more product launches to come, and a second series of With Love, Meghan has been confirmed. No official dates have been announced yet, but we do know Chrissy Teigen will feature.

It’s been a busy year for Meghan: she also launched a new podcast in April, Confessions of a Female Founder. Produced by Lemonada Media, this sees Meghan chatting to a series of women about starting their businesses, plus topics ranging from pregnancy to media criticism and self-love.

Series 1 of With Love, Meghan is available to stream now on Netflix
