The Bradley – Cheltenham, Gloucestershire

The Cotswolds

Whether you’re going to the races, to one of Cheltenham’s festivals, or simply sightseeing or shopping, The Bradley will be your home from home. This lovely, honeyed-stone Regency town house in the fashionable Montpellier district has been a B&B since 2011 and was recently given a significant refurbishment by Peter and Lana de Savary. The interior is elegant in style with antiques, paintings and objets d’art. There are ten lovely bedrooms, including one with a romantic four-poster and another in Art Deco style. Two are new contemporary dog-friendly rooms in the delightful courtyard garden. A friendly welcome from General Manager, Bea Seidler, and an honesty bar in the beautiful drawing room are just some of the little touches that make The Bradley stand out. It also holds an AA Breakfast Award: an excellent full English and numerous healthier options are on offer in the airy dining room or pretty courtyard. A gem!

SEE

The Bradley is the perfect location for the races – Cheltenham Gold Cup – or Cheltenham Literary Festival.

EAT

The breakfasts are fantastic – in fact recommended by 2 Michelin starred chef from Le Champignon Sauvage on C&TH. Most popular dishes are the Bradley Classic (scrambled eggs with smoked salmon served on half a toasted muffin or toast with lemon and parsley garnish) or the Bradley Stack (toasted muffin or toast with oven cooked local bacon with a poached egg on the top)

BUY

A beautiful piece from Rechercher – a stunning boutique selling French decorative antiques and gifts.

Nota Bene

The Bradley was formerly a refuge for widows returning from the colonies of the British Empire. It remains one of Cheltenham’s most important complete historical houses.
