A new study by Leonardo Hotels has discovered the UK’s best free attractions to visit.
The Royal Albert Dock in Liverpool was named the UK’s best free attraction with 6.3 million visitors a year. The dock is home to shops, exhibitions and waterfront dining.
Continuing in order, this was followed by Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Brighton Palace Pier, Alton Towers, National Museum of Scotland, Chester Zoo, Windsor Castle, Edinburgh Castle, The Roman Baths and Stonhenge.
The Top Attractions Revealed
The top free attraction in England was revealed as the British Museum, followed by the Science Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
In Scotland, the National Museum of Scotland took the top spot, followed by Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum and the Riverside Museum.
The best free attraction in Wales was the St Fagan Natural History Museum, as well as the National Museum Cardiff which took second place and Big Pit National Coal Museum took third place.
For those in Northern Ireland, the number one top free attraction was Ulster Museum, followed by Ulster Folk Museum and Ulster Transport Museum.
